Yes that’s how I felt,the shop layout and decor where spot on.

My landlord in Ganac was using a interesting knife,he told me he got it in a shop in Foix.
So I had to detour.
Sadly didn’t have much time as it’s a pedestrian area,but what a great shop.
He even knew the owner in Brice where I got my Coutou knives from.
I bought 3 great knife slips but didn’t want to rush a knife purchase.

What Is the pattern name of the knives in the center of this photo? Very interesting looking.... I like!

Beautiful knives, and a fascinating shop.

Your post really brings back memories - I spent some time traipsing around the hills near there on a few occasions in the late 1980’s. Looks like I will be spending another evening lost in nostalgia, looking at my old haunts on Google Earth…

True,but not many where UK friendly.

It’s not sad,it’s just how it is.
We can use them in the house or garden or if needed for work.
The size of a GEC sodbuster etc. is perfect for my needs and likes anyway.

Purely by accident I went through Lagoule thanks Tomtom.

The marling spike was used back in the day by farmers who stabbed the cow when it’s stomach blew up from gas or it would die.

They use vets nowadays.

It was to much to take in,so in the end I just bought some slips.
I did get to talk to some makers though and was invited to a workshop out of town,sadly didn’t have time.

Do you mean shadow laguioles? I didn't see any bareheads in those pics. Barehead = 1 bolster at the joint. Shadow = No bolsters.

The French term for a shadow knife is plein manche.
