Gareth bull: Slow Delivery/waitlist thread

I'm sure if you guys send him an email he will reply now, after all his internet is back up.

hopefully you guys get replies soon enough.

He is supposed to contact me tomorrow with good news. He said that he will send my knife this Friday.
My knife "was ready to ship since the first week of August " and he send me 5 or 6 emails saying that he was going to send it.

This is why it was so frustrating because you don't need 4 MONTHS to go to your local post office.
Myself have been on waiting lists from a lot of custom knife makers and I am really happy to wait my turn.

I Really hope that everything will work out for everyone. I will get back to you tomorrow with hopefully good news.

Is it safe to assume that Gareth has contacted you and that your knife is finally on the way?

He contacted me last Sunday explaining that he wasn't able to go the his post office last Friday. He booked a car to send the knife today. I really hope that he did it this time. I explained to him that if he didn't deliver by the end of the month, I will ask for a refund. He said that he will make good on his word and send it today.

I will update you when I have more information.

That is good to hear.... however unless hes able to ship out in the evening/night its is already almost 8pm where he lives and probably wont be out today. Unless He already shipped it and hasn't updated you yet.

I have no idea why people continuously defend poor business practices and give people that have ripped others off the benefit of the doubt.

Lying in online communications is the rule, not the exception (if there is an excuse or late action involved). I love it that you guys are so understanding, but I hate to see people rip you off and take advantage of your trusting nature. Gareth knows it's wrong, but it seems like he doesn't have the capacity to bring resolutions (there is a major difference between intention and action, but intention seems to be enough to pacify Gareth's conscience), at least not without stiff deadlines imposed by fortitude and cohesion. They already kicked him out of his club (that should be a clear indicator about his integrity), what else can they do if he doesn't send your knives - take away his birthday?

Where does one draw the line when enough is enough?

If I had an order with him and he blew me off with shipping my knife multiple times. I would be doing everything in my power to get my money back.

We are holding out hope that he will come through..... Yes he hasn't given us much to look forward too with a lot of lies left in his path, but we still hold on to the idea that some day we will have our knives delivered.

I for one payed in full so there's unfortunately not much I can do except wait. Others could back out without any money ever trading hands but I'm assuming they would rather wait it out like me for a chance at what is to some a grail knife.

I am upset that deadlines have been missed multiple times but I hope to see light at the end of the tunnel soon....

Edit:

I'm asking only the moderators and people who have orders with Mr. Bull to post in this thread. I don't want this turning into a "what I would do in your shoe's thread"/ "bash thread" on Mr.Bull.

Lots of people received their knife from Mr Gareth Bull......but that was before he had all those problems.
In my last mail, I asked for a refund. I had to draw the line somewhere.
HE said on this thread (P.14) that he will refund those who ask.

Now I'm waiting for an answer. We will see if he do what he said.

Gareth,

I don’t know what demons you’re fighting, but they’ve dragged you down to very close to rock bottom. Hopefully you’ll hit bottom soon so you can admit your problems to yourself and do something about them.

There is really no reason to post any more forgive me posts. I think we’ve heard it all now. If you want to start digging yourself out of the hole you’re in, start with just one knife. Since you’ve supposedly already made spongebobbf’s knife, ship it to him. Post on this thread that you’ve shipped it. Post pictures of it like you committed to. One knife!

You gave your word to spongebobbf that you would ship his knife. Unfortunately you gave something that has very little current value.

I think that deep down, you’re still a good guy. Unfortunately, every time you make a commitment to a customer that you don’t meet, and you know you won’t meet, you’re lying. We won’t even discuss the money issue… yet.

I sincerely hope that this post really pisses you off. Hopefully enough to goad you into action producing knives. If I’m the last one on the list to get a knife, so be it. I do still want my knives.

Make one knife. Take a picture and post it. Ship it out to a deserving customer who has placed a deposit with you. Just one knife. You might feel better.

Larry
