And did he offer any explanation as to why he missed two more promised ship dates on a knife that has been made for 4 months or so?

Every time, the explanation was different. He contacted me yesterday for the refund I asked.
I should received half today and half the next week.
I will get back to you tonight with hopefully good news.
 
I'm still waiting for the same. Sent him another e-mail last week for some kind of update, but with no response again. I think that's 2 or 3 emails over the last two months that have gone unanswered. One e-mail I sent was to have a knife similar to what I ordered in liner lock instead of frame lock sent if that help. I know he has been building the liner locks like his original prototype while still working on the frame lock design. Just want a GB knife...

yep, I understand the feeling. Though some of my emails have been answered, Ive have sent about three now that have gone unanswered recently.

Hopefully he is working on the knives and that's why hes not posting.

I would think that if he is in the "marking" stage of the knives, then he would be able to update this thread with pictures soon.
 
How lucky for this maker for having such patient customers:rolleyes: If I were you guys I will definitely do anything as I could to defame and get my money back. I bet his route as a knife-maker is ending soon.
 
Well, if he would return his e-mails we could discuss the possibility of a refund vs. knife delivery. I'm seeking out another builder for a custom folder. If I contract another build before I hear from Gareth, I will be requesting a refund of deposit. At this point I'm not even sure I will get that.

he has refunded part of spongebobbf's money so hopefully he would make right with your refund if need be.

I have sent him a couple emails in the past weeks that have gone unanswered.

Gareth is shipping out My gem along with another members knife this next week. We had originally planned to ship my warlock and gem at the same time but he's gonna do them separated as the warlock isn't finished yet.

I think I'm going to ask for a refund. I think I've lost my desire for this knife with all of this.

I know he had some troubles in the past and I think he is trying very hard to make good on his word.
Because I am currently abroad for a couple of months, I asked him for a refund but I would have preferred to wait for the knife since I know some people who had custom knifes build by Mr bull and they couldn't be happier.

To build back his reputation, he will have to first work on his communication, get his website up and running, and start sending some knives.
He is young and a very promising knife maker and making errors is part of the learning process.
It is always difficult when money is involved

have you received your complete refund yet?
 
After all this time I have yet to see a GB customer receive his or her knife and post here. I know we hear he is "trying", but how many knife have been finished? How many a month? How big is the backlog? Where do the customers here stand on the completion list? When will we get our knives? I like many sit well over a year. How many were shipped this past year? Too many questions and not enough real answers. To many date commitments past due. I REALLY would like the knife, but I'm reaching the end of my patience and understanding.
 
This original post started in april......it's like reading any of the posts in the hall of shame. Same hopes and same disappointments. Sure hope y'all get made whole...meaning your knives or money back.
