GEC 25s - Gots 'em?

Could somebody please point out which GEC 25 versions have steel bolsters and liners?
Thanks, Raul

I don't believe any of the 25's have been made with steel frame and bolsters. I'm thinking they are all of brass/NS construction so far.

The barlow has been done in all steel...

Sure has! Perusing GEC's 2011 Production Totals (in which the above ebony barlow is included) reveals these entries:
#251211STLB
Ebony Wood 73 pcs. no serial number
Goldenrod Saw Cut Bone 46 pcs. no serial number

#251211STL
Burnt Stag 73 pcs. no serial number
Primitive Bone 36 pcs. serialized
Snakewood 24 pcs. serialized
Burnt Orange Jig Bone 13 pcs. no serial number

There may have been others, in other years? I have not looked further (yet).

Sightings of all-steel #25s previously posted in this thread:

The Sawcut Goldenrod bone Barlow was my first GEC knife. How could I not go back for more?

I sure am fond of mine.

All steel model, with stamped bolsters. Burnt stag. Long pull clip. The main blade is actually stamped, not etched with the logo.

Forgive the cell phone pictures. It looks even better now. The high points on the burnt stag portions are polished shiny from pocket wear, and it looks even richer now, I feel.

[Barry, not to put too fine a point on it, but until your most recent run of #25 barlows, I believe all knives sporting the UN-X-LD stamp on the primary blade were all-steel. You renegade, you! :)]

Mine own trio of all-steel #25s:

If memory serves me correctly, I think there were also some Sheepsfoot blade Easy Opens with all steel construction. There was a Red Jigged Bone and an Ebony version. Both bare ends. Not sure of the year.

This one came in today...I am in love! I'm really wanting an Elk GEC version as well.

My UN-X-LD Drop Point in stag sports brass liners P ;__; Is mine the half removed cousin of a barlow?

Ah, I was less than clear-- I am referring to UN-X-LD stamped on the blade (vs. a blade etch), not the stamped bolsters. I shall edit my post above for clarity.

Once upon a time, an UN-X-LD-stamped blade signified all-steel construction. [And once again, if there were exceptions earlier one, I am confident that someone will point this out apace. :)]

(There are, of course, far more all-steel knives without stamped blades, but the ones that have that blade stamp were invariably all-steel. Now, that signifier has become like so many of GEC's other 'guidelines'-- a suggestion. :D)

Ah, thank you for the clarification P. I should probably have read more thoroughly. :D

Here is the newest addition to the WLST® family

I quite enjoy seeing that "Titusville Ironworks" Stamp on the tang.

Fine knife that Jack! You won't be needing any more knives this year.....:D:eek:

Ringed bolster really adds to it, nice pin work too:thumbup:

Pulled the trigger on a burnt orange spear point. Lovin' these little single blades.
I hope to see single wharncliffe, clip, and drop points on future runs.

This is the most current picture of my collection of #25's. Some have come and gone, but I am happy with this group.

It sure is great to see them again. :) The burnt orange is an eye-catcher.

This is the second time in a row GEC has (re)run spear and sheepsfoot mains. (I wonder why?)

I'd enjoy seeing more of the other blades as well.

(But I'm mostly just glad GEC remains committed to these WLSTs® at all! :D)

A 25 was my first GEC and it remains my favorite GEC pattern. The little bugger just works for me, especially in the single blade format.

Maybe we can team up on Mr. Howard in August to further the cause.:devilish:
