GEC 25s - Gots 'em?

Don't think there will be an EZ-Open run, they've been very frequently done before, but with GEC you never can tell:D

What I can be sure of is there'll be no Drop-Points :( and this is totally bizarre given that it's the best blade for this frame . I can only assume that the blade presents production problems.
What's even crazier is I recently landed an eo drop point. What's crazy is that because of the blade shape you still can't pinch open the knife.

FWIW, I noticed that the production schedule does not say ivory acrylic. Rather, it's says "new ivory acrylic." Perhaps they really mean it! :)
And...we have an even NEWER name! :D

They've said on Instagram that they are shipping this week. I would imagine that they will be available in a week - week and a half.

I have all of the NF versions on reserve, but I couldn't wait. I went ahead I snagged one of the Tidioute Golden Rod jigged bone versions. IMG_1665.JPG IMG_1666.JPG

A lot of the Pioneer Bones look like Oily Creek Bone. I like the ones that are almost all cream-colored, like previous Pioneer Bone handles.

Regarding the polished stag, I asked Mike if there would be individual photos to choose your knife from, as there was so much variance in the slabs. Sadly, he's not able to do this. But, from the pics online, they all look really nice, just all different. As long as they are well-matched, I would be happy with any of the ones that have been shown.

I just received a 25 spear point in goldenrod jigged bone. I lean towards clip/drop points on these guys although I do have one sheepsfoot. I picked this up because I wanted to see if the fat spear point would work for me. What I said about the sheepsfoot goes for the spear point also. I believe that any of the four blade types will be satisfactory for the uses this pattern will see. In fact, aesthetics aside (which I can't overlook) the spear point might be the best. Why? Because sometimes more steel is better.

I still prefer the clip/drop points better, but if you want a 25 and the spear point is what's available, I wouldn't hesitate to grab it. I was actually hoping to go for one of the Unicorn Ivory acrylics but lunch called and I missed. Let's see how I do tomorrow with the Northwoods clip points. Okay, on to the photo.
