I know you would have preferred the micartaI am somewhat ambivalent about it all. On one hand, I prefer transparency, on the other, I understand it from a collector's viewpoint.
Regardless, unless one is pretty plugged in on some or all of the Facebook channels, one is apt to miss out on the smaller runs. Facebook is a non-starter for me, those that enjoy that arena can reap its rewards. I'm just happy to get at least one from a run that interests me these days through the regular means.
I was able to score a micarta Harvester recently, only to be notified by the dealer that they oversold their stock so I was then offered a Rosewood at the same price. I didn't pass it up and I just received it yesterday. It's a very nicely made knife, though I wish the pulls were firmer on a working knife this large.

Just paid for my Northfield Rosewood Cotton Sampler 10 minutes ago .Does anyone know when the rosewood cotton sampler will drop?
The leather strap is a great addI'm going to carry this one for a few weeks to check and see if the blade can be useful and how the textured micarta wears.View attachment 2073953
That's what I have been doing too. It has been good for cutting up food so far, the belly makes pull cuts easy and the notch keeps food away from the pivot.I'm going to carry this one for a few weeks to check and see if the blade can be useful and how the textured micarta wears.View attachment 2073953
I sat out on these. But, what a nice patina and a beautiful photo. Glad your getting good use out of it and enjoying the knife! With a small sample size of a couple of days.
This is a fairly capable knife. Once you get accustomed to the shape and geometry of th cutting angles it work quite well. Broke down a sweet potato and some chicken last night, I have no complaints.
More to come.
