Sure does look like ebony. As nice as the Chechen is, ebony always looks like the perfect handle material to me.
Good pics of your Harvester!Jigged micarta is the best micarta, the all steel construction is great, love the bolster and shield, very slim, pull is around a 5, I prefer a 6.5/7. My copy is centered, flush, super nice.
I dont see why this couldnt be a fine EDC. The blade seems like it would be great for food use and amazing for a package opener. I have a small orchard of 7 fruit trees and this will be nice for harvesting fruit and propagation. This knife would also be very good for leather crafting. Very well done by GEC. A lock back version in stag and one in cocobolo would be welcome also.

I have a micarta coming my way too but crossing the big pond takes tiiiiime. Great pictures btw!
Work it.I bought and paid for the micarta because I wanted to put it to work, but they sent me a rosewood. I think I'm still going to put it to work, but I going back and forth about selling it to get a micarta instead. Do you think the rosewood begs to be babied? I think It will look good worn in. I try not to keep anything that should live in a tube. I do love the way the chechen config looks.
Well, that's no contestSame hereWill Power ...
Which of our knives will reach its finish line first (Finnish in your case)?
The Great Eastern Contest across the Big Pond is ON!
I didn’t realize the 47s actually came in ebony as well as chechen. I almost caught a drop today but froze up trying to decide between the two and ended up missing everything. Rookie mistake haha.
There are many 'parcel Limbos' for a good knife than just Suomen Posti. More than we have trees in Iceland I betWell, that's no contestYou're only half way across the Atlantic
Plus you don't have to deal with Suomen Posti and Customs...
.the last packet I had spent 15 days in 'sorting' at Helsinki before coming here, a journey that in the old low tech non Digital Days used to take 24 hours or less. But, do you have trees in Iceland to prune?
