GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

Whew, I was getting worried that the bone micarta wasn't going to happen. So glad I took the chance to reserve this one now. Great choice Mike!
 
I reserved a Bone Micarta and would be very happy with those covers. What is the actual "name" of that cover material? Will it be smooth (polished) or textured like natural canvas micarta?
 
I wouldn't change a thing from that pic, Mike. Texture, shape, etc. all look perfect to me!
 
Looks like it is going go be bone canvas micarta from the updated production schedule.
 
I think it looks bad and those of you who have one on reserve should feel bad for liking it and just cancel your reserve

I like the texture...up close it looks more like canvass than linen so that's good to go...not too fond of the light color (a shade by natural canvass is better)...but since I have it on reserve I will still take it. I'd like micarta for EDC rather than bone. I hate the cracks that develop on bone.
 
The bone micarta looks perfect. I love white handles, but prefer jigged or textured over smooth.

As many others have declared, I was too slow to the show, and will hope to get something on the secondary market.

Very nice, Mike. I like this better than the natural canvas.
 
I like the bone canvas micarta, but not as much as the natural canvas micarta. It's really nitpicking at this point for me though.
 
Will the bolsters be matte like on the Natural canvas Micarta knives, I really like the way that the matte or brushed finished bolsters look with micarta.
 
This guy's still goin strong. I just put a new edge on the spear and oiled down the bone.

AZ, I hope the sheepsfoot has been treating you right while your spear gets some plastic surgery.
 
These knives have been a homerun, every release. Wonderful contribution and stewardship of traditional folders :thumbup:
