GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

Green Sawcut, or smooth Autumn bone would be great. Also would love another shot at a clip with match-strike pull. 2 bladed is my preference.....pen or coping ....either way.

Follow your instincts.
WTH is a tanto flipper?

I agree, he should, always spot on...

Here is a tactical tanto barlow:

Great to see all the ideas for a next 77 run. First, I just want to thank you Mike for designing these knives. They are all of superb quality. Second, my vote for a new 77 would be a match strike long pull single clip blade with black canvas micarta covers, all steel construction (1095). Failing that, some variety of antique amber sawcut covers would be equally superb.

May be true, but they are not all for me. If we are going to make them, might as well make what folks want.

So mike are we getting a clip or Spear 440C with a caplifter? Never been done before right? I know not everyone likes the cap but I dunno, would be great in stainless

I would willingly accept a new #77 Barlow in almost any form but I remain doubtful as to whether it could better the all steel spearpoint version previously released. In my opinion, this is the definition of what the NF #77 Barlow should be

Well, that, plus a coping blade, plus smooth dark autumn bone... ;) But yeah, the long-pull spear point is sublime in this pattern, no matter the other components.

Yes Mike, more cowbell, please........wrapped in Blackwood! My sig line clearly states my vote but no matter what you come up with, thanks for all that you do to bring the 77 to us.

I figured you'd be throwing feelers out here too Mike, so I'm chiming in here as well. Clip coping all the way with 2ndry behind the main. On the spear copings you can still pinch the spear open because the distal aspect of the spine of the spear is proud. However, I would like to see the series one style clip with coping for a low riding blade fit. I vote steel or NS. 1095. Appaloosa, calico, butterscotch smooth autumn gold, or plain Ivory sawcut bone, Gabon if steel or NS. That's more than 2 cents so there's my five bucks.

I like the ivory sawcut bone idea. What about the scratted bone like the ancients had, but with a spear and wharnie. Not sure it could get much cooler than that.

Dark Chestnut Sawcut with a clip and large wharnie. Dream knife is a 771214... I want one bad, so, Mike, please make them again! :D
