I also have a #85 EO Bullet End Jack in my hand so I make a comparison and find out that #77 Barlow have a tighter walk and talk.Rambler , they will loosen up a little with use but not a lot . I really like the pull on the 77 Barlows as most have excellent walk and talk.
Yes! I, too, hope for a 2-blade model. I'd take any kind, but maybe a clip + coping since there were no 2-blade models last year.I'm hoping for a 2 blader this year. White sawcut bone sounds pretty sweet too.
I would also love to see a 2 blade by year's end but I am wondering if GEC is all "Barlowed Out" for the year. I hope not. I do not own a 77 barlow.I would be happy with Reclamed Broomhandle just as long as I finally get a chance to get one!![]()
Oooo, your jest about reclaimed wood just put my mind to something...Mike Latham, might you consider oil sucker rod wood on a 77 barlow?I would be happy with Reclamed Broomhandle just as long as I finally get a chance to get one!![]()
I wanted to add one more thought to this thread. I, for one, would be very interested in a SS version of the Yankee Barlow. In my opinion, the best Barlow to date from GEC was the spear + coping #77. I'm wondering if there was enough interest, perhaps we could see a repeat of the spears in SS? Alternatively, it could be a clip + coping in SS. Anyway, just a thought. My 77 spear + coping is probably my most carried traditional, so this thread (and the next run of Yankee Barlows) is always on my mind.
