The best traditional out there!! And that copper sawcut is off the charts! Awesome find! Can you tell that you have my favorite knife? Period....Haha. Oh yeah. And can there be a better clip? Not too long but stout.![]()
Thank God there´s an aftermarket ;-) So I got me a #77 copperhead sawcut bone
Yeah, I was lucky a knife buddy had to sell this gem because of sad reasons for him, but good ones for me ;-) .The best traditional out there!! And that copper sawcut is off the charts! Awesome find! And yeah, is´s really a beauty, well made and absolutely wonderfull designed.
And this brings me into real troble: shall I use it or just keep it?

Love the look of the smooth white bone with a spear blade. One of these is definitely at the top of my want list.Use it, but then again I might be a bit biased.

You got a very good one Dirk !!!! Carry it , use it , take care of it , and it will not let you down . In my opinion , they are the perfectly proportioned Barlow for my hands .![]()

You are absolutely correct that the 77 Barlow is a nice to have knife . Very sweet looking but a heck of a knife . So are the 47's , 72's , 73's , and 74's plus many others that you will also like . Good luck on your search for themThe #77 barlow is a pattern I’ve just come to see, but it is quickly taking a front seat! I also like the lines of the 47 Viper, but that clip point barlow is just so sweet looking.
Thanks Harry! I’ve seen pictures of the 72, 73, and 74 but they are hard for me to distinguish. I like their appearance though! I tried a beer scout but found it to be a touch short for my liking. When I got a lionsteel roundhead and discovered that it is the same size as a 77 that started my quest . They aren’t cheap, though! I need a second job or greater patience. You are absolutely correct that the 77 Barlow is a nice to have knife . Very sweet looking but a heck of a knife . Thanks traumkommode! This thread that @black mamba started contains a side-by-side of the 73/74, with an appearance and explanation of the difference between the 72/73. https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/73-vs-74-comparo.1530477/#post-17575583
Just noticed there is a 4th Northwoods release for this year (Hawthorne, Little Bay, Lincoln, and now the 35 frame).
How the hell is it we couldn't get one 77 Barlow!?!?!
That being said I really like my Burlap Hawthorne.
I don’t know if you’re confusing northwoods with Northfield, but northwoods will never get a barlow on the 77 frame. The 77 barlow is exclusive to mike at CK like the 15 barlow is exclusive to Charlie.
I am disappointed we never got a Northfield barlow this year, but my wallet is happy.
I do hope we end up seeing the clip and coping blade combo next though.
