GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

Went out for a run this morning and took this one with me. Can't wait for the two that are coming my way!

I have it's two bladed cousin. Seeing your pic kind of makes me want the single for its simplicity.

Question....Do they have custom people that can remove a blade and put the knife back together? Has anyone ever done that.

Not sure that I would but curious.

Josh, there are several people on here that do that often. I wouldn't doubt it if a few don't pm you offering to do it.

There is also a maintance a tinker subforum you could post in and a thread in the exchange.

I was expecting a hell no are you crazy response. Good to hear I will probably have to look into it.

Thanks!

you and I both...

I would have been all over it had they ran chestnut saw-cut bone.

I love the Chestnut color, especially the SawCut versions. GEC keeps teasing us...a lot of these Smooth Autumn Golds looked like they were close to being a dark chestnut, and then when they go in for the final buffing, the color changes completely.

They would have called them something like "Dark Chestnut" if they were going to stay that color. GEC's Autumn Gold is one of my favorite bone colors out there.

Agree, some prior runs of autumn gold ends up with a bit too much yellow for me. This run came out perfect... the yellow is mellow!

Ughhh, getting emails but had to lend the misses a bunch for her student loans this month so looks like I'm missing out on these...Maybe he'll do another run of 85's!!

Yup - Chestnut sawcut and Canvas/Linen Micarta are my favorite. I like the Autumn Gold too, but sometimes it's a bit too light for my taste - like my Sheepsfoot Yankee Barlow - I wish it was a tad darker.

Got an email for my "maybe" on a couple of the 77's and I decided I just could not pass up that beautiful canvas Micarta 2B!

They're all beautiful, but man, that Autumn Gold Bone! What a great way to kick off the season!

Cranking up Nat King Cole: The falling leaves drift by the window, the Autumn leaves of red and gold.............

:) ;)

Luc,

Just use the Guardsman pens...they come in a 3-pack. I used the darkest one on my Yankee Barlow and the color is so much better now.
