GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

Agree, some prior runs of autumn gold ends up with a bit too much yellow for me. This run came out perfect... the yellow is mellow!

Sounds like I am in the minority, but I like the lighter color autumn bone a bit better.

I've ordered the two-blade autumn bone. I'm looking forward to seeing how mine looks. I'm partial to the darker one as I think it seems to have more depth. We shall see.

I've also got the micarta one coming. I've wanted a Barlow in canvas and now I've got one coming. Dreams do come true.

Not to speak of the long pull spear blade.

I like the looks of both examples of Autumn Gold. Different, yes, but about equally attractive to my eye. I've got the 2-blade version coming so unless the handles are horribly mismatched I should be pleased either way.

Man its eating me up now that I didn't grab an autumn bone. Just wow. I can't wait, all the models are just gorgeous.

Looks like they are on the way. Micarta 1B and Autumn 2B incoming. I'll post photos when I get mine (because no one else will :) ).

I noticed that you listed the factory effort for the two-bladed barlows as a 9, and an 8 for the single-bladed barlows. Is this because GEC did a better job with the two-bladed ones than the singles, or because two-bladed knives are more difficult to pull off and GEC managed the same level of quality found on their single-bladed knives on the two-bladed ones?

Whew...just selected the 1B stag I wanted. That was tough!
So many choices only thing that would have made it crazier would be a clock that beeps as the seconds go down.

Thanks Mike for giving us the option to select like that...pretty neat idea.

I'm liking the darker Autumn Golds. It really reminds me of Appaloosa bone. Brown Appaloosa bone would be amazing on these Yankee barlows.

Snagged a 2-bladed natural micarta on pre-order, now to count down the days until 9/25...

Hope it's OK to post this pic from CK, I just need something to look at for the next few days.

Selecting the 1B stag is indeed tough -- all are equally good! This one's a winner for sure. Thanks Mike for a wonderful run. Now waiting the shipping notice. :-)
