My only knock on them is all original Remington barlows both regular and grand daddy had Remington on the bolster, I would have liked to see that. The etch is excellent though, just like an original Remington etch.

I thought so too until I looked it up. Technically legal from what I can tell, but very dishonorable in my opinion. First place I’ve ever run across that does that.

I am glad they made these. I am not much of a grand daddy barlow fan myself but this makes up for whatever that other one was. No offense to people that liked it. I hope all that want one can get one. Thanks everyone for the great pictures.

Really? That means they’re profited off an expense that doesn’t involve the actual product. To save themselves problems they should just make the shipping free but up the price to hide this nefarious pricing.

I agree. It’s a little ridiculous. I looked it up and couldn’t find anything that says it’s illegal. Dishonest and dishonorable, but not illegal from what I can tell. The “profit for nothing” is the part that bugs me.

SMKW is pretty quick to ship but I learned a long time ago to refrain from the faster shipping options on or close to the weekend, usually won't hit the shipper till Monday and there goes my $$.

I typically don’t, but I’ve had pretty bad luck with shipping lately so I opted in this time. Never thought I would see that customers get charged sales tax for shipping though. Cured me from buying there again.

What do you mean? Nobody is getting hustled.....I paid the listed price + my state sales tax of 6.35%, free shipping by Fedex. Total of $212.70. Exactly as it should be....

All in was $210.99 with free shipping. Thats with the 5.5 percent sales tax for Maine. I have happily paid much more than that for several GECs over the years. Go with the free shipping.
