Gec bullnose

 we have the same taste (and luck ?). Now I wonder why the burgundy hue becomes "bordeaux" here... mystery of translation! :D
I'm very curious to see a picture of the blue-jean, as these are out of reach.

Bon chance JP! As for Burgundy/Bordeaux there is a difference in colour and a fundamental taste aspect but I like both Nuit-Saint-Georges and Pomerol etc:D

Denim could be interesting but I'm looking forward to the Natural Canvas and Burlap pictures. The whole run looks fine, a simple, elegant, tough well finished work-knife with an excellent range of handles including the bring out your child Nifebrite:cool::)

sorry wrong thread!

ps I hope they'll have another steel better suited for food someday. And yes, natural canvas & burlap have fantastic look!

I'm not really a bullnose guy, mainly because I'm not a fan of the tight-radiused belly to the blade. But the natural micarta ones shown in post #39 look great, with the blued pivot. A really nice contrast, that will only look better with some patina on the blade.

just received my first 71 -- sorry for the terrible photo -- and my goodness i am amazed by the simple perfection of this knife.

Is that a Madison Barlow? Just trying to get a feel for the size of the Bull Nose. Thanks!

I really like the Bull Nose. It's a great workhorse (or bull :D) and a lot of bang for the buck. Here's one in 01 tool steel and Green Canvas Micarta.

I really like the look of the green canvas micarta . Just got the green linen looks good but I was really looking for this look .

I've read that the acryllics are thinner than the delrin handled ones, does anyone know if they are also thinner than micarta? Is there a comparison shot from the last run?

I also like the canvas micarta over the linen. But either way, micarta really takes a beating and will stand up for a long time. I had a maroon linen micarta Bull Nose that I sanded and roughed it up to look and feel much like the canvas variety. Pretty easy to do.

Danny, thanks for showing the red, looks very nice. I went back n forth with red or burgundy, I waited to long and the burgundy was gone so my decision was easy:o

The red should arrive today or tomorrow. The upside is I had burgundy in a earlier run so the red will be new to me plus it will match my red micarta fish bone fixed blade Barlow from Mark. Apparently I'm a fashionista;):D

It's pretty obvious that you just ordered a red knife for Valentine's Day, Paul. It's okay, we all understand. Any excuse to get a new knife is a good one.:D

For whatever reason, I was having a bit of a problem getting the color to show accurately in the pics. In real life it's actually just a bit darker than it looks in the photos. Here's one more I posted in the new knife thread. Might as well add it here too.

Is it just me, or is this denim micarta not as pretty as the stuff that was used on some of the Northwoods knives awhile back? Maybe it's darker. I dunno.

i actually decided to buy one on the basis of the darker, more even look. love the striations/"grain" of the denim!

You're such a slave to fashion Paul. :D

Lol Bob, Nanc always comments on my high fashion. Navy blue Duluth trading T shirt, blue Jeans and sweatshirt. I may mix it up now and again with a grey T shirt;):D

Well it is Valentine's day tomorrow Danny and it looks like the Bull Nose isn't going to make it today. I can see it now, opening the mail box and getting my Valentine gift from Barry:p

:love_heart:

That's where mine came from. I expected it to get delivered tomorrow also. It's always a nice bonus when they arrive early.

I think the denim would have looked nicer if it was a more 'faded' shade of blue, but they might look better in person than in the factory photos. I will say that the two tone pivots on those SFO knives look really nice.

The more I see it, the more I like micarta. All those I have already did whitstand the years and still look as gorgeous as on the first day!
