giveaway - emerson horseman

I've never owned an Emerson and quite honestly if for some reason I won this blade, I would immediately give it away to my best friend. He is a soldier who just returned from his 3rd trip to the sandbox. He's not a knife guy but carries one daily... I know that Joe would make good use of a blade such as this one. It would be a good blade for his EDC.

Thanks for being so generous and goodluck everyone.

I've never owned an Emmerson but hear good things. They're at a price point that I've never had explained so I haven't invested in one. As to use, I use ALL my knives. I only have a couple of folders though, so it would be sure to get some good use. In fact, if I win, I swear to EDC it for 6 months straight! Thanks for the opportunity. Very generous on your part!

Thanks for the chance, I have never had an Emerson before but always wanted one. I have a friend who carried one for years and absolutely loved his. I have to say I was very impressed with the F/F on his but could never come up with enough money to get one of my own. It would definately get more than its carrying time if I won it.

I'll take a shot at this one too, I've never owned or handled an Emerson. I would use it in the field on a daily basis. Pictures and a review will be no problem...

Haven't owned or even tried any Emerson's so far, so I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

This is the nicest thing I've seen some one do in a long time.

I don't have very many good quality knives. This one would be one of the best in my collection. I've always liked Emerson but never had the funds to buy one.
I would EDC that sucker until the day the blade wears away from years and years of sharpening.
Plus the horseman is one of my favorite model's from Emerson.I love the look, and the V grind that it has.

Never had an Emerson, but they have a great following, so they must be a nice folder. Hear nothing but good things from the guys that use them. Thanks again for the chance.

Id like to enter the contest but the knife would not go to me. I have a co worker that has taken me under his wing at my new job. We became close because we share common interests such as knives and hunting. While i collect knives he just likes using them. Right now he owns only one folder and while it is an ok folder its nothing special. If i were to win i would gift him this knife. You can bet hes ganna use the heck out of it and ill take pics to prove it. Thanks

Mike

Iv never owned an emerson. iv always wanted one but when i finally save the money for a nicer folder i go for a benchmade or spyderco. it would be really sweet to get one.

Don't have one but i hear great things. I'd like to see first hand what they mean. Thanks

I would like to be entered. To be honest, the reason why I don't own any emerson knives is that they never visually appealed to me. Plus, the majority of them utilize a liner lock and I've heard that QC on emerson is debatable. As a result, I have stuck to spydercos, benchmade and others. If I could get this, I could than actually -- rather than from reading others opinions -- make my own decision on the quality of an emerson. Cheers. & Thanks for the kind offering.

never owned nor even handled an emerson. just lost my go to tactical folder...my RAT1 ...This would make an awesome replacement. Thank you for the chance very cool of you!

Whats an Emerson? Ill put it to the test and take some pics.

That is one heck of a generous offer.

The only time I've seen an Emerson up close was when I was first getting into knives a couple years ago. I was at the local gun show and they had a good deal on Griptilians ($85 OTD) so I was trying to figure out how I could justify the purchase to my wife. Other than that the next best thing I have is a factory second JYDII and the Syderco Tenacious/Persistence twins so trying to justify more than 30-40 bucks on a knife was going to be difficult.

While I'm checking out the Grip, this guy walks up and asks to look at a couple of the Emersons. I knew Emerson knives by name, but other than that really only knew that they were way out of my price range at the time. He flipped it open a few times and handed over the $200+ dollars for (I believe?) a Super Commander.

I must have had this look of awe on my face because the guy asked me if I had ever handled an Emerson; which I had not. I told him I was just amazed that he had walked up, looked at the knife for less than a minute, and then ponied up that much money without a second thought. I had been standing there for 20-30 minutes trying to decide on something for less than half as much.

He flipped a different Emerson from his hip pocket (I believe it was a CQC 7, not sure though) and handed it to me. This was the first time I saw the wave feature as well, which was pretty cool. I was impressed by the quality and how smoothly the knife functioned and have wanted one since. It's one of those things I just kind-of wrote off as something I'd never be able to buy so i guess I'm in.

Thanks fo the chance! :D:thumbup:

I've owned 2 Emersons. One was a folder that I really didn't care for, as it seemed sort of boring to me. I didn't care for the "zero grind" on the edge. Of course, that was probably almost 10 years ago, and my understanding of knives has changed immensely. I really haven't had any interest in picking up another Emerson folder for that whole time. If I received a free one, then I'd have no room to complain, and may actually find a reason to like Emerson knives.

The other Emerson I had was the short little fixed blade with the finger hole. I can't remember the name of it, but it was a cool little thing. I gave that one away to a friend who was down on his luck, and needed a pick-me-up. Oh, yeah, it was a La Griff.

Thanks for the generosity. If I receive the knife, I promise to use it, and share my thoughts. I haven't sold or traded a knife away in more than 2 years now, as I have regretted almost every time I get rid of something I like.

Wow are you serious?! Crazy.

Well I've always wanted an Emerson cause I've read nothing but good things
about them and they are one of the most trusted brands out there in the
knife market today. But they are a bit expensive so as of late have not been
able to afford the opportunity.

I have no problems with pics/vids with the knfe, you can watch any of my
reviews on youtube. And I don't it's too hard to not get rid of an Emerson :)

I'm in! I like the wave because I'm always on the run with my job! I really would like to try it out! Thanks!

I've never owned an Emerson and wouldn't mind having one to try. I would definitely give it some use during deer season in skinning and cutting up the deer. I would grind those serrations off immediately and make it into a full plain convex edge blade like my trusty Buck 110. Nice looking Bowie type blade on that Emerson. Thank you for the chance. Very generous offer.
