gravelface aka jason

Dude , you clearly did not read this thread..... I would reconsider saying such harsh things...

+1  I believe those injuries that are acting "daisy-like" were received fighting for our freedom. Way to mock a purple heart veteran. Tsk Tsk

Exactly. What's the issue here? Man-up and send the guy his property... the rest of you bleeding hearts pipe down and stop defending some pretty daisy-like behavoir. The "I'm having such a bad time in my life" excuse is pretty old.

If life is that tough that you can't take care of your affairs, pull the rip cord and spare the air. ;)

Son......feel free to come pull my rip cord......I will even buy you a plane ticket to visit me.

Chris, it was sent this morning USPS Registered mail and Restricted Signature Confirmation so only you may sign for it.

I don't want to pull your rip cord, whatever the hell that means, but I'll take the free plane ticket (round trip, of course!) to come and hang out with you! Maybe you'll let me play with some of those Busse's I can't afford to buy. :D

On a more serious note (though, I'm dead serious about the free trip thing) I think Gravelface handled this like a straight-up man, and I wouldnt hesitate to send him my business.

I just want to make sure I can get added as one of those bleedin' hearts. :grumpy:

No further comment on this deal - Jason acknowledged it took too long but life gets in the way some times. I didn't see anyone defending "pretty daisy-like behavoir"... rather offering some reassurance to another member that things were gonna work out based on countless experiences of the good character of Jason.

You're crap-stirring comment was over-the-line, keyboard bravado.

Jason falls within a very small group of folks in whom I have complete confidence. I know his wife, I know his kids, and I know the integrity of the man.

I've had four days off since the end of July. My Mom had a massive stroke two weeks ago and lives in another State - I've been traveling to deal with hospital matters on those scant days off. This ending a year of commuting 500 miles every weekend because it took a year to sell my house due to a job transfer and my youngest was diagnosed with a neurological disorder.

My point here is that life gets in the way.

If Fed Ex doesn't offer any kind of proof of signature or return receipt as proof you signed for it. FORGET it...I am more concerned about covering my bases.
For future reference: They do. As does UPS and DHL. It's generically referred-to as "signature required." There'll be a box on the shipping form to check-off to require it.

The thing about USPS is that only a couple of their delivery classes (Priority Mail and Parcel Post, maybe?) actually provide shipment tracking. The remainder are only delivery confirmation. With FedEx, UPS and DHL: Tracking is tracking. I generally prefer the latter three, myself, but I have to admit I've yet to have had USPS let me down.

With Registered Mail, you get tracking by signed transfer every time the item changes hands within the postal system.

IMHO Registered Mail is THE best way to send something that has to be delivered. Your package is put into a locked bag and is signed for every time it changes hands. I know because I'm a Postal contractor and I sign for and deliver them all the time.

I don't know if UPS, FedEx or DHL has this level of service.

Basically once your parcel goes in the bag it doesn't come out until it reaches it's destination. No chance for anyone to even see the parcel.

Good Heavens, PM!! Your 2008 sounds like my 2006 -- may we both be spared this, ever again.

Sending good wishes your way.

As to Jason? He has my respect and my trust ... and I'm hoping his very dramatic life can settle down some time soon.

I'm sorry this had to happen, and I hope it can now settle down.
