gravelface aka jason

Just to let himself be cut to shreds, again. Why would he bother? Everyone knows he got the knives, already, so what's he got to gain?

Restoration of his reputation, common decency, and the removal of any miscommunication down the line?

Best Regards,

We used to have a management principle, "Praise in public, criticize in private." Be nice to see some of that here. I fully sympathize with VTW for feeling abandoned at first, but once the communication got going again, the heat was off, the friendship should have been re-established. The knives' arrival would have been an easy time to say something that would make us all feel good about the process, however harsh some parts of it might have been.

Jason managed to be as conciliatory and responsive as possible, despite SERIOUS physical pain. Been there, won't forget it. VERY distracting. But he never used it as an excuse, only an explanation. Time to wrap it all up, and all of us go back to being friends. No regrets, no recriminations.

VTW is a part of this place, too, and I hate to see him feel isolated.

Perhaps to say something along the lines of "got the knives, matter is closed", "talked to Jason, let him know I got the knives, matter is closed", "got the knives but something was wrong, talked to Jason, worked something out, matter is closed", or whatever. Then perhaps this thread could be locked and the whole thing put to rest.
He was able to be quite vocal in this thread before he got the knives, one more post surely would be viewed as appropriate in this case.

Edit: I'm a horribly slow typist, and started this before post #241, but I agree with Esav's and Kohai's comments as well, am letting my post stand as is regardless.

yes i got my knives ( though i maintain my issues with what knives were returned) ........ after seven months and countless emails etc and a lot of trouble and all i can say is i will never do business with jason again, but do wish him the best,

and by the way i did not post on here after i received them because i didn't sign for them, i was gone, out of town, just returned..... so for all of your confidence in the usps should be examined.

i really have alot more to say on this issue and the various people that have chimed in but i will keep my mouth shut...... don not have the time or energy to dedicate to it all.

bye folks.....

So they left the package without getting a signature? If so, were did they leave the package? Not on your doorstep, I hope.

I think we may hear more on this since Jason paid specifically for Chris to be the only person allowed to sign for it. I've seen postal carriers lose their routes for not providing this exactly as specified when it is a contracted/purchased service.

Well, as expected, the drama goes on.:rolleyes:

" Though I maintain my issues with what knives were returned " And those issues are? Did he send you the wrong knives? Not all of your knives were returned? Why so "hush hush" all of a sudden?

No one ever said that you were not entitled to be pissed off. If you legitimate complaints about the knives that were returned, you should air them......if it is going to come off as petty or spiteful, you are right, you should totally not say anything.

I'm sorry that this had to come up....it starts with "take your time"....which an "experienced" collector learns to NOT say.....a communication of what the collector feels is a valid delivery date is an excellent place to start a conversation, if the expectation is unrealistic would be for the service provider(sheathmaker, knifemakers) to indicate.

Remember, VTW, you started this thread, you are responsible for many of the directions it went in, and are also responsible for your OWN satisfaction, ultimately. If there is a way to wrap up the thread with more finality/closure than you already have, you have that opportunity.

Jason, I would pursue this agressively. The service you paid for is taken very seriously by the USPS. Some carrier goofed big time.

That is if the statement is understood correctly as it wasn't signed for by Chris. If so, whoever signed for it needed to sign his name. In that case they could be up for forgery charges. If the postal carrier left it without a signature, there can be legal repercussions from Jason's end.

Interesting, veeery interesting. Either way someone is going to have a lot of explaining to do. This is Federal.

VTW, who signed for the package?

If VTW would only post simply and clearly that the knives arrived and the problem is solved, all this would go away. If he doesn't, the thread survives and he gets poked again and again.

if someone else signed for the package when it had restricted delivery on it then gravelface gets his money back. he will know when he gets his return receipt back from the post office.

the new scanners also have image capture on them so he might be able to check online as well.

This may be moot, as VTW has said the knives did get there.

It is possible for a restricted delivery to go to somone at the correct address who says, yes, that's me, and signs for his friend, his boss, his father ... not technically proper, but the letter carrier isn't going to ask for ID unless the circumstances are suspicious.

On the other hand, if this does blow up into a problem for the Postal Service, VTW may have to pick up signature items at the post office after this.

You sure do keep this thread alive. Glad we all have such a shining example to follow.

Even on his very worst day STeven shines 10,000 times brighter than you!!!:p:p

Nah, maybe 11,675 times..................

scarab$ kept the thread alive also, and managed to do it without adding anything of value to the topic. I see an emerging pattern. :)

At the very least I was simply sticking up for what I saw as a faux pas in Jason's case. 7-months with someone else's property will always stand out as a long time in my mind. Perhaps my tact was flawed in not understanding the circumstance around his condition, and I've already admitted that. Otherwise, my points stand.

The rest of the banter toward VTW and anyone else who's made that point is very clear. Mob rules, and Esav you prod like the rest. Glad you all think so highly of yourselves.

I would really like to know what was meant by "though i maintain my issues with what knives were returned". Were you sent the wrong knives, or fewer than you thought you should get?
