Great lakes waterjet is a no pay for my services from back in 2009.

I'm glad to read what appears to be a positive turn of events. Pending the transfer of funds, I think all of us should be encouraged by today's commitment and by the influence that the community had in helping to resolve the issue. Spark and the mods should be proud of the way they handled the situation.

Al, obviously you can read, so thats a good start. Yes, once again, it was a mistake on my book keepers part. Do you know what that is? A person who takes care of my corporate books and pays bills, writes checks and all that stuff. Do you have one of these? Doubt it. You probably don't claim any business monies or even claim to have a business so you don't loose you benefits...right? So unless I owe you something...well you know the rest.

No reason for the condescending attitude.
You wouldn't be getting upset by what others say if you had paid what you owe before this thread came about.

You should have checked with your book keeper years ago. Seems this thread is the only reason you did check into this issue.

Here is what happened once again so everybody is clear. Richard was sent a $100 money order dated 6-19-2009 for sharpening services. I didn't know that was the amount sent until now. I thought he was paid in full.

I thought he was paid in full. My mistake for not double checking, but I was going by what I was told. At the same time Richard was paid, we probably sent out around 40 to 50 more payments as a business does. Since the mistake has been found, I am correcting it myself right now. I am putting a money order in the mail to Jason Morrow, as requested by Richard, for $500 to take care of what I owe him and his time and troubles. Do we understand now or do I need to copy and paste this for the next few hours? Richard, I hope the extra money is enough to help you and get you back on your feet. I'm sorry this happened. I do respect you and even after all of this, will consider you a friend. The ball is in your court. I hope you want to play.

Got ya. I hope the extra money helps. When I get back to the shop, I will look for the carbide piece.

Dave,

I don't hate you, don't really know you, I just don't like what you have done here.
BUT - I think your on the right track now..... GOOD for you!

Keep your word
and this will be my final post here........;)

Glad to hear that Dave Curtiss will be paying Richard for monies owed to him and hes giving him a little extra which I say shows a little bit of class on Daves part. He should also send Richard one of his F1 knives as a token of apology.

Now I will never do business with Dave Curtiss or Great lakes water jets ever again and I will tell each and every friend I have of Daves dishonesty and poor business ethics! So Im calling for a ban on buying anything from Curtiss Knives!!! What if his book keeper makes a mistake? It could take 4 years and a thread to get a "mistake" straightened out!!
DON'T BUY FROM CURTISS KNIVES!!

Wow Adam, do I need to post the email comments you made about Richard? And you are LEO? What a professional you are! I'm not that way and won't post it. You are just the kind of person I DO NOT want as a customer. I would rather give stuff away!

I have known David quite awhile and I am quite surprised at this. I must think there is some kind of a misunderstanding here that could be rectified some how. Stand up guy as far as my dealings go.

Brad, you are correct. I made a mistake. We all do. We fix mistake. We move on. Simple. Right?

Things are moving towards getting resolved and this is a good thing for all involved parties.

Dave Curtiss, until Morrow confirms receipt of the money owed, anything more that you post only makes you look even worse.

Waaaaaaaay off topic, but I'm curious about what Richard's plans are with this.

I'm glad this is getting resolved.

i wanted it cut into 1/8" strips so i could siliver solder them on the guide i put on a blade when i grind on the disk sander.

I agree and also Striderco is a friend of mine as well and anyone who knows him, knows he wishes to keep his personal life personal so why would you post his profession in this thread ??? It has nothing to do with the fact that you owe a man money, just so happens the man you owe money is a friend of striderco's and mine, So yea he's taking it kind of personal, as am I , but no need to post the guys occupation, as I'm sure he's asked you to keep what he does private.Another bad business move.

If you are not involved in this situation do not post.

I'm going to temporarily close this pending resolution of the matter , since the Involved parties have come to an agreement.

Richard, let me know if it needs to be re-opened.

I have received a picture of the filled out money order as well as tracking info.

A MO for $500 arrived today from Mr. Curtiss as promised. Richard, call me tomorrow morning.

did you find the piece of carbide? it was a planer blade about 1/4" thick with a chunk missing. i think there was maybe 5"- 6" unbroken. other than that we're good.
