Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Have a great Sunday, Guardians!

Good Morning Guardians!
I have been having some trouble with this computer for a couple of months and the last several days have been challenging and I think I am going to do a Windows 10 reset. If I understand that correctly it will remove what is on the C: drive and reinstall Windows 10 and then I will have to have it look for multiple updates and multiple restarts. I don't know if this process takes an hour or a day or more? I have been following along when I am allowed to and there are multiple websites it just will not log into, also I get notified I do not have the latest security updates, yet it does not find any when I check for updates.

I have been enjoying the great photographs and wonderful stories that you all have been posting. I have taken some photographs of the only lambsfoot in my meager collection and I am unable to get a close-up that is readable of the tang stamp from A. Wright and Son.

I used to wonder why the weather service always warned "old people" to stay inside when the temperatures and humidity get high. The last couple of days I have found out first hand now that I, too, am an "old people". The warning extends through today here and then the mower will get a workout, too.

I will do a complete virus scan, followed by a data backup to a USB Flash Drive, If anyone has anything regarding the Windows 10 reset that maybe helpful I will appreciate your input before I do the deed. Wish me luck.
I wish you the best of Luck, HC. Must be very frustrating. Hopefully things will digitally turn for the better.

Jack Black Jack Black You’ve been ultra busy with it bringing us all much pleasure. Where do you draw your energy from? Most impressive.

When I see the Yorkshire Rose flag, I’m thinking that would also make a great beautiful look to a T or a Cap. The TV B&W image of the field worker with the Lambsfoot is brilliant.

@pjsjr Love that light on your Lambsfoot, Preston.

@Foddering a smashing B&W image of your Lamb Dwight.

A good place to ask would be in the Technical sub-forum HC  Hope your computer woes are soon over

Marvelous pic, Jack!

Thank you Vince, I bought the slide from the market yesterday. The seller had about 30 of them, but since they were a little pricey, and none had content which interested me specifically, I just purchased that one :)

Have a great Sunday, Guardians!

I did a double take when I saw your photo, too. Is it a piece from a burl?

(For that matter, do Rosewood trees ever have burls?)
I am wondering the same thing Greg. You will note below a quote from Jack saying he's never seen another like it.

I have never seen another piece of Rosewood like it Dwight
A most interesting and fortuitous event. :)

I thought this old ink eraser was cool. I have a couple already, but this is larger

I will be interested in hearing your review of The Crusades set Jack.

What a nice morning I had. :)
I went fishing at my local river, my wife and son came with me. They sat and read by the river while I fished. We then took a little walk along the river and stopped on the way home for a good breakfast. The fish didn't cooperate with the plans but it didn't spoil the day. Lovely way to spend a morning. I had my Hartshead Barlow in tow...

The River, it was beautiful and quiet...

My Hartshead enjoying some sunshine along the river...

And a real good breakfast at a cozy little mountain restaurant...

Good luck fishing...will you use the HHB to clean the catch?
Thanks, PJ. The fishing was fun but not productive.
I would not have used the HHB as I only "Catch and Release" to ensure the fisheries will be there for generations.

The problem with the “lay away program,” is that afterwards, they lay you away, Dwight.:)

Jack Black Jack Black Expresso Beer. Got it.:) The Crusades sounds fascinating. I found a BBC, 3 parter. Not sure if it’s the same one, but It looks good. For those of you who don’t have the time or the inclination, here’s a 5 minute overview.

JohnDF JohnDF A beautiful look at the river, the Lambsfoot, and the plate of delectables.

Wonderful Dwight :) Thank you my friend :) My friend from the tool-stall watched it on the TV, and enjoyed it so much he bought me the DVD set. I've just watched the first episode (of three), and it was certainly very interesting

It sounds the same Harvey, though the 5 minute version would save time! :D

Morning Guardians, I flushed SJs joint last night and it appears that some of the grit was hiding a fairly significant gap in the joint. It appears the spring is thicker than the tang. (See below) Do any of you have a DIY remedy for this issue?
l0Rsq5D.jpg

I know some of you are fairly handy when it comes to these things.

Thanks in advance
Jiki
If the spring is thicker than the tang and there is no gap between the spring and the liners, I'm not sure there is much you can do about it. Is there significant side to side blade play?

Good Saturday morning Guardians, dog training is on for today. I thought about carrying the handsome HHB, but will go with Rosie instead. Have a good day, all.

As you might already know I too am a fan of turntables and Lambsfoot knives. :D
Cool shoot.

I do like the badges/pins, which you can just put on anything.

Haha, Those are my kind of people!:D
That Hartsfield of yours is a beauty as well as that M. May , fine covers on both!
Also, I have been meaning to ask about those black sheep pins. Is that image taken from the Minor Threat album cover?
I have it here somewhere, I will dig it up and post a pic.

Today me and my family had a blast!! We took the quick drive up "the hill" to Lake Tahoe and hung out at Nevada Beach and had lunch. My son was brave enough to take a quick dip into Lake Tahoe's notoriously cold water. I snuck in a quick nap too;). After Tahoe on the way home, we stopped by Echo lake to take in the scenery. What a beautiful alpine lake!

The two blades I took with me.

My wife wanted to try these hard seltzers out, I was curious as well. They weren't terrible, but seltzers are not my thing.

That's beautiful country up there, Taylor. Something about the Sierras just calms the soul.

I think I made up for it last night Kevin! :D Yes, I think I might treat myself to that roofing hammer if it is there next week! :D Though, I've just remembered I bought a miner's hammer a few years back, and regularly trip over it  :D

I need to spend some time on that website myself! The Barlow article was in the July 2018 issue

Cool pic
Good to hear that you made amends. :p:D
That miner's hammer sounds like it doubles as a home security device. If you trip over it a burglar most surly will. :D
Thank you, I have been wanting to give that a read.

Morning Guardians, it's a couple of minutes before noon here, and after 3 1/2 hours, I finally caught up! I hope that everyone is having a fantastic weekend, and enjoy your Sunday folks :)

Carrying some Damascus today, shown here with a wee pamphlet on the English Civil War that I found in the market yesterday :)

Fine photo of your DamLam and the pamphlet looks like a interesting read.

I read the Guardians as I drank my coffee, made sure to take a Lambsfoot along for pictures, and reported directly to the Guardians when I returned. Y'all were definitely part of the trip.

I enjoyed the hidden message, Dwight... Very poetic and appropriate.
