Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I'm very honored that you would enter on my behalf, José. :) I thought about asking that you get the prize if I win, but then decided that might make Jack's brain explode! :D:eek: If your name were drawn, then I'd win, but if I win, then the prize goes to you, but if you win the prize it gets sent to me, ... In the interest of Jack's (precarious?? :p) mental health, I decided to enter for r8shell r8shell instead.
We wouldn't want poor Jack's head to explode, would we?
Most non-Texans would say that the statement I bolded is exactly why you Texans need help!! ;):D:D I posted a pic to enter the GAW that I took at my vacation place, and if it had the mojo to win, I thought I'd give you the credit for memorializing the vacation locale on the scrimshaw you did for me!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Well, thank you very much, GT. :)

Quite the day in this thread!

cigarrodog cigarrodog Happy Birthday Harvey!

Jack Black Jack Black , wonderful rapid giveaway. Some great pictures posted as entries, and it was fun to follow it this morning until its conclusion. Congrats @5K Qs & r8shell r8shell !

L'il Lambsfoot seems to have the same kind of problem Jack's HHB has... It won't be put aside and insists on being with me most days. Recycled photo from the book thread this morning, but I've been very well served with this little guy lately. Action's smoothing out nicely, slowly forming a patina, and just plain comfy to hold and use.

Thank you kindly Mike.:)

Very cool coin tray, John!:cool::cool: I have a napkin holder by the kitchen table that my daughter made from decorated toilet paper roles probably 25 years ago; I use it all the time. ;)
I'm sure our kids look at it and see a piece of junk, but we see treasure. ;)
Sorry to hear about your tree exploits, I'm sure it was scary when it happened and a ton of work to get it all cleaned up and fixed.

Lol!!! I understand everything going on ... thank you very much for everything, Gary.:thumbsup:

I've been mostly keeping up with this thread in terms of reading the posts, but I haven't responded to any posts for almost two weeks. About that time, a 36" circumference limb fell off an old oak tree in the front yard and punched a couple of sizable holes completely through the roof, cracked a rafter, and tore off numerous shingles. So roof repairs, debris clean-up, consultations with tree guys, and correspondence with insurance people have occupied a substantial part of my time. Oh, and a new semester started a couple of days after the limb came down, and I'm teaching one class again, so that cuts into my "play time".

Wow, GT. I hope all the tree troubles are behind you soon.

I hope you’re enjoying being able to teach without having to deal with all of the non-teaching stuff that was part of being a full-time professor.

Good Morning Guardians
First test of the year for my Algebra classes.
Fingers crossed that I prepared my students well enough.

I wish my algebra tests came with a lambsfoot!

In honor of back to school time for both of our resident math teachers, here’s a bonus question inspired by John’s photo:

The shape of a lambsfoot blade can be described by two lines: the nose line and the spine line. Using the graph, determine the line equations y = ax + b for each of the three lines depicted above:

- nose (shared by both)
- spineW - spine of a Waynorth Cutlery Lambsfoot (blue)
- spineA - spine of an A. Wright Lambsfoot (red)
