I'm glad that despite Canada Post's best efforts, it managed to arrive safely :D

Good morning Guardians. This Standard Lambfoot with Rosewood Covers arrived in yesterday's afternoon mail. It has nice dark Rosewood covers and will make a nice addition to my flock. It is marketed by J. Adams of Sheffield but actually made by A. Wright. Notice the oval tang stamp that reads Made in Sheffield.

The dealer included a nice leather sheath as a bonus.

Good Morning Guardians

Thank you John, all this wood had me confused as to the day for a minute! Happens a lot these days :)

Looks good Ed :)That's the stamp Wright's use on knives they make for a number of other outfits, Jack Adams (who only make fixed blades, butchers knives, etc) included. Their rosewood varies in colour, but it is all Indonesian

Jack Black Jack Black - I enjoy the old B&W images as much as your Blackwell Lamb.

Good Morning Guardians.

Thank you Harvey, that a lovely photo my friend :) Here's another B&W image (from 1864), together with a Lambsfoot from Taylor's Eye Witness. Interesting to see how far back the design of the fireman's axe goes, unchanged until recent times

Thank you Jack. The axe on the left, makes me think that its’ design evolved from a weapon.

Good Morning, or evening i should be saying. Was really interested reading about the rosewood being from Indonesia, i know rosewood from India is highly regarded in the custom made guitar industry, i presume it comes down to availability and cost, hope the rain is starting to ease for you.

We'll see Ron, I am far from happy with our friends from Sheffield at the moment o_O

I think I've gotten caught up enough to understand the gist of what's going on, sorry to hear of the conflicts, Jack. Hopefully they get sorted in some sense or another.

In the meantime, I hope everyone is having a wonderful evening!
