We arrived back home last night after a 1400 km trip to visit family. The weather was great for the whole trip.

This morning we wake up to an ice skating rink My wife decided to stay home from work, I ventured out for a couple visits I had scheduled. Back home safe

Been trying to post this for a couple of hours now... , too many distractions here, and the site maintenance, but here's what I have so far:

On a slot machine, all cherries are a winner...but that is even a better winner! Lovely shot, Jack!

I have three lambsfoots that may be more beautiful than this one (Sambar stag AC, 2019 Guardian in desert ironwood, and Sambar stag Hartshead Barlow), but this one gets used the most. The rosewood just feels right. And looks great.

The 36 bus stops at the bottom of my street, and goes all the way from Leeds to Ripon. With its plush extra-wide leather seats and 'all mod cons', it's a very comfortable bus, and I guessed that today it would be empty, as were the roads.

The journey, particularly the section between Leeds and Harrogate, has to be one of the most beautiful in Yorkshire, and you get fantastic views from the front of the top deck. Today wasn't the best weather, but I still saw deer, red kites, and a heron. The pics I took are really shakey unfortunately One day I'll have to try and take a video as I was surprised not to be able to find a decent one online (most are bus-spotter videos which focus on the bus itself )

I live on the north side of Leeds, close to the open countryside, and the beautiful Harewood Estate and Harewood House.

This is the River Wharfe.

By the time we got to Ripon though, it was raining This is the ancient market square.

The Cathedral.

Lots of old lanes and attractive old buildings.

As it was raining I decided to curtail my walk, but did stop to pick up a nice bottle of rum

Found this feller on the street when I got back (Teddy's aren't just for Christmas).

Last day of the regular football season and my Hawks have a big game. Fingers crossed.
Yesterday was fun, we went out and about a lot and I was shoving more and more knives in my pockets every time.
The kids were laughing, saying it would be funny if I got pulled over and had to explain why I was carrying so many knives.

Today, I'm just carrying one knife...

Thank you, Jack, we are hunkered down inside the house. We cancelled swimming lessons for the kids and the music lessons tomorrow am as well. No sense risking driving in these conditions.

Thank you, Harvey. Linus is quite a fine knife and I am happy that I kept him. Some folks might remember my lukewarm feelings as soon as I received him, I had far less tolerance for deviations from jet black Ebony than I do now.
