Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Just want to wish everyone on the porch a happy and safe New Years Eve and New Year. I have been on the porch since May and it is one great place to be. Thank you to everyone for making me feel so welcome, you have sent me broke, but made me feel welcome. We have shocking fires here at the moment, and just had a post from a Blade Forum member who is in the thick of it, those poor people are going to have no sort of New Years eve, so it makes me feel so grateful for what i have. Take care everyone and i shall have a coldie for all of you.;)

This year seems to have gone fast, but what a year for the Lambsfoot  As it hasn't rained for a couple of days, I'm heading out for a hike tomorrow. Think I'll be taking a hip-flask ;) And these two :) Hoping to check in here late afternoon, have a great New Year's Eve Guardians :)

Great shots there Jack. Enjoy your walk (and the contents of your hip flask).

Thanks David, that is such a cool pic :)

Love this pic David, what location in England ? Looks like an amazing place to go for hikes

Wonderful pictures, gents! Quite a pleasure to view.

That's a place I could spend time walking around.

donn donn - Thank you David.Breath taking Saturday on top image of your Lamb.

Thanks gents. It's Kinder Scout, an upland plateau in the county of Derbyshire. I walked a three-quarter circuit on Saturday. I'd show a few more pics but my internet is being a bit sluggish this morning.

Yes, they are calling this one an ice storm

One of the biggest ice storms on record happened in January 1998. People still talk about in this region

Thanks for the explanation Dan, ice storms are not something the UK experiences. One of my brothers lived in Montana for a few years and would tell tales of the ones he experienced there.
Anyway stay safe.

Brought this one out to pose alongside a fine pipe and tipple.

My New Years resolution is to live my life like you do. :D

I can't upload onto Imgur at the mo' so another shot from Saturday.

And Happy New Year to you, Cudgee. I've enjoyed your presence here.

Good Morning Guardians
Can't wait to see all your celebration pictures being shared.
We don't have any plans as of yet, but we usually stay home away from the chaos.
I usually stay home myself, drinking champagne with my wife.

Thank you, Jack, we are hunkered down inside the house. We cancelled swimming lessons for the kids and the music lessons tomorrow am as well. No sense risking driving in these conditions.

JohnDF JohnDF - What are you doing to my space-time continuum?!  I even saw the Harrogate Dalek (who's called Dave incidentally) later! :D

Just having a few beers - I've noticed I have a lot of strong ones in the fridge, so I am trying to mop up a few of the lighter ABV ones first!) :D Have a great evening Guardians

The Doctor is always saving your country from some alien invasion this time of year. :D:thumbsup:

One of the Waynorth Lamb Foot knives was my introduction to this pattern and I like it very much.
Did I start with the best Lamb Foot? I see some A.Wright & Son and Joseph Rodgers Lamb Foot knives for sale online, how do those compare to the Waynorth?

As far as Fit and Finish goes, you can't beat the Waynorth Lambsfoot. It is just a beautifully constructed knife and very accurately designed.

The A Wright Lambsfoot knives I have are not as nicely finished, with sunk springs and gaps in the liners. The blades aren't as evenly ground as the GEC version either. However, all that being said, I absolutely LOVE my A Wright Lambsfoot knives. They have a robust build that just screams for hard work, their blades are canted down to get the tip of the knife into the material, the action has super strong pulls and the 'snap' is loud and violent, they open as smooth as any knife I own, the tang is barely noticeable when closed, and the regular size fits my needs better than the longer Waynorth.

So, as long as your expectations don't lean towards beautiful Fit and Finish, and you're looking for a hard use every day knife, I can't recomend the A Wright Lambsfoot knives enough. But beware, there are some really poor examples floating around, so be careful where you buy them.

That sounds good too John, bet you have all those dice with the multiple sides! :D ;)

Yeah, those aliens must love our weather! :D

Cleaned the gutters today.
The Lambsfoot came in handy trimming some taps.

My Hartshead Barlow was scraping wax out of my UCO candle lantern yesterday (pics next time I promise ;) )

Hope everyone is having a good New Year's Eve :) I'm still trying to make some room in my fridge ;)

Great shots of your walk Jack; but it looks like it was colder right side o' Pennines. No frost for us this morning.
That Bad Kitty porter is delicious isn't it. Hope you enjoyed it.

Happy New Year Guardians.
I'll probably be in bed shortly. :D

Cindy and I went to town today and ate lunch at our local cafe. I had Liver and Onions and she had a Patty Melt. Great chow and got to express New Years greetings to many of our locals. I had this SFO Hartshead Barlow with me.

Here are Coco (half German Shepard) and Utah (Pie Bold Dachshund) ready for the New Year. They are house dogs but we'll block the doggy door at Midnight to make sure they stay indoors so the shooting and fireworks don't spook them.

Happy New Years to everyone Guardian or not.

Amazing pics of Yorkshire forests Jack !
I am not sure if Robin Hood would have lived in any of those but my imagination can sure see him coming out of one of those with his band of merry men.

Incidentally, just a couple of days ago on our very long drive home from visiting family over Christmas we were listening to the Robin Hood audio book in the car.

My brain which has been wired in Spanish a long time ago :D was having a bit of a hard time understanding the old English coupled with the British accent accent of the narrator.

At one point I asked my kids in the back : " Hey guys, do you understand everything he is saying ? "
In loud unison ( and a bit condescending like only teenagers can be) my kids responded
" OF COURSE WE UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING !!! "

I found out they had read the book several times as well as different versions of it with different endings etc
:)

Well said John
I would have written it just like that if my English skills would have allowed me :)
