Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians - and anyone else looking in. Rainy, dreary, day here today.

Hey Charlie @ waynorth !!!! When I got this knife way back in September 2019, you said to use the heck out of it. I have been. It's developed a nice patina - enough to consume the etch and dull the bolster somewhat. Thanks for such a great knife.

Anyone else got a WCLF to share and thank Charlie @waynorth for?????
Ed, here is my Waynorth Lambsfoot! I love this knife such a great user.

Great knife, made even greater by using it for what it was made for. Here's mine ...

Happy Sunday Guardians. It's an amazing day out today here in my neck of the woods. Got some yard work done, now enjoying a Bloody Mary! My chickens are doing a great job of keeping us stocked up with eggs. My neighbors are enjoying the fruits of their labor!

That bloody Mary looks fabulous. I've been craving one but the liquor stores in PA have been closed. I think they're starting curbside service this week so maybe next weekend I can join you.

I, for one, am a fan of a gradually earned C70 patina.

Beautiful on all counts.

Ron. Your newly acquired Venture Lamb Foot, with the beautiful Buffalo Horn covers, is another gem. Congratulations.

@mitch4ging - Thank you for the nice comments, Dennis. Enjoyed the rams working out video. I noticed that the slightly larger ram was a bit of a bully. He guarded the leather bag, and kept blocking and butting the other one. Very interesting. Hope your day is a good one. That bread looks as yummy as your Hartshead.

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you Jack. Hope each day brings you further relief for your back woes. Hartshead and sausage butty still sounds like a good plan.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

Liquor stores closed? :eek::mad:

How can I be so busy when I'm home all the time?? I haven't contributed to this thread in a week and now have massive catch-up to do.
Risque Lamb photo, GT. :D
Beautiful pinwheel herd. :cool::thumbsup:
Risque is in the eye (and mind) of the beholder, John! ;)
Thanks for affirming my flock! :)

Thank you GT! Hope your Easter has been a good one.
Belated thanks, Joshua. :) Easter was fine, but less triumphant than usual with each day seeming so much like every other day. :(

Thanks again Gary! You don’t need to agree with Harry, he’s bad enough without any encouragement! ;) That’s a neat photo of your beautiful flock Gary! :)
Thanks for the flock photo praise, Ron. :)
I'm sure Harry is "bad enough" in many ways, but when he's right, he's right! ;)

Here are my second and third loaves ( sourdough starter and yeast )
The womenfolk in my household ate most of it already :)

Congrats on the successful bread-baking, Dan!!:thumbsup::cool:

Thank you for the nice words, GT. A beautiful flock, indeed. Wonderfully imaged.

Thanks for your encouraging words, Harvey, and for sharing your photographic skills with us as you portray your knives.:thumbsup::thumbsup: That shot of your rosewood HHB is stellar!

...
Nice photo, GT!

Inquiring minds want to know: will you purchase your next lambsfoot knives as a pair so that you can maintain the symmetry? Or will it be just one and you'll re-arrange into three arms of lambs? :)
...

Oh, that's wonderful, GT. What a nice service for her to be doing for so many people.

Thanks! I briefly toyed with taking a picture with the HHB on top of that picture, then taking a picture of my HHB on top of that, then... but decided the better of it. :)
...
Interesting question you posed, Greg! ;):thumbsup: I'll confess that my knife purchase decisions are rarely influenced by photo considerations (and that probably shows in my pics ).
My wife appreciated your compliment when I passed it on to her. :) She had me deliver 15 masks Monday morning to the college where I worked that she had made in response to a request they made for 500 masks for "essential" staff and students unable to leave campus.
I like the idea for your picture; it's the thought that counts! :D

...
It's a very wet country here Gary  There was a time when I almost always wore gaiters when walking in the hills and mountains (apart from in the summer), but I don't do that sort of rugged walking much anymore, sadly. I have a couple of Gore-Tex pairs, but the best pair I had were made from cotton duck  LOL! :D I can relate to that! :D

Another great pic
...
Your wish is my command Greg! :D Carrying my Unity Lambsfoot today, and maybe if I rub it hard enough @Cambertree will appear! :D

...
Thanks for the additional gaiter info, Jack. :) I have a couple of pairs of carpenter pants made of very heavy brown canvas-like cotton cloth, and they seem to shed rain much better than, say, denim jeans.
Thanks for "saluting" another of my lamb flock photos, and thanks for the pic(s) of your Unity lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool:

Too dark for pictures this morning, and I never have much luck with artificial light, as the following picture will illustrate, but speaking of the Mohawk:

Hey, page 1911! Somebody should post a lambsfoot and Colt before it's too late.
I LIKE that photo, but mainly for the juxtaposition of An Introduction to Anthropology and Utica Club, as though the club were a prime example of anthropology! :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:

We experienced a very stormy evening yesterday. We have had possibly 8 tornadoes in my area. We’ve got over 60,000 without power in one neighboring county and five confirmed fatalities in another. :( Our power was out from 11:00 pm until 3:30 am. Luckily our home was spared. They are still surveying all the damage in my county, but I know my county has over 3500 without power! We spent several hours in our basement with our bicycle helmets on! I’ve seen the destruction from these storms before and they are not to be taken lightly! Stay safe my friends. :)
...
Storms were very bad here in the South. At least 18 dead, hundreds of homes and businesses destroyed, a million or more without power. Bad all around. Glad you all are safe.
Glad you didn't personally suffer devastation! Sad circumstances for so many.

I've got this TEW with Bexoid handles in my pocket today! :) I hope all you Guardians are safe and sound this morning! :)

I've been carrying my Man Jack all week:

What if it falls!
The close up pic and the angle it was taken make it appear as deep water.
It was probably 2 inches deep and I was standing ( or rather squatting) on dry ground besides the trail reaching out to the small branch ( which looks like a big log ) on the pic.
If it fell I would have dried it right away with a cloth and once home blow some canned air and oiled it.
The sun as it got lower made this wonderful reflection on the forest standing water.

You’re right my friend! Thanks for the compliment! Your Man Jack is always a treat to see! :)

There have been some very appealing lambsfoot knives posted this past week!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Here's a nice William Rodgers Charlie sent me :)

Tip-top two-blade, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

No shortage of things to do here at Grumble Towers  Figured I'd join Ed, and drop this 'un in my pocket today, haven't carried it in a while

I really like these pics of your rosewood HHBs, ED & Jack! Such solid, stately knives :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, GT! I really have enjoyed your group shots as well.

I've had this one closer by today.

Thanks for saying so, Dylan. :)
Your jigged red bone lambsfoot is so energetic!!:cool::thumbsup:

Captivating capture of your desert ironwood, Barrett!:cool::thumbsup:

Nice shot, GT. The grain and color are fantastic on your rose wood HHB.

I was fellin fancy over the weekend so I went with the stag.

Good to see you dropping by when you can, FBC! Thanks for the thoughtful remark about my rosewood HHB. Your stag HHB looks like it's the big cheese of the knife world! ;):cool:

"Big-un" with Buffalo Horn covers.

Heart-stopping jigged bone WCLF, Dylan!!:thumbsup::cool:

Harvey, when it comes to knife photos, there's nary a doubt that U XL with that ravishing stag I-XL!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Good Morning Guardians
Half way through the week. :D
Cool shot of your African rosewood lambsfoot against some wood that's not as rosy, John!:thumbsup::cool:

...
That said, some of the nicest Rosewood I've seen was on the first Wright's Lambsfoot I got, which I picked out in a hardware store, and subsequently gifted to Charlie

Superb handle on that knife, Jack!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Jack. I found it really excelled at spreading when I flipped it around and used the spine. Edge for slicing, spine for spreading ;)
I "discovered" that, too, Mike! ;):cool:

That's my favorite part of this whole fiasco.
Less people on the roads, more people taking walks and riding bikes.
I've been walking at least 6-8 miles per day every day for more than a month now, and I'm amazed how easy it is for me to cross, with only rare waits, what used to be busy streets.

...
All hospitals in the UK still treating the usual including urgent elective surgeries such as cardiac ops or cancer ops. Emergencies are being triaged and treated as usual. However car accidents are down massively, as are the usual weekend alcohol related injuries. But cycling accidents are up (we've had nice weather during our lock down). DIY accidents have gone through the roof. Mountain Rescue for England and Wales has had I think ONE call out in 3 weeks for the whole country. Injuries from domestic violence has also seen a significant rise.
Dentists are available but for emergency treatment only.
I'd assume it would be similar throughout the western world but maybe not.
...
David, thanks for this interesting info on medical implications of the efforts to "defuse" the pandemic.:cool::cool:

Fabulous Waynorth shot Dwayne
Thank you Jack.

Nice photos :) The steel isn't a great deal different. I think you'll find it'll patina ok, as you can see from the many photos here

It certainly LOOKS delicious Dan, well done

Good morning Guardians, it genuinely came as a surprise when I realised it was Saturday! Guess it doesn't make a great deal of difference to many of us at the moment. Hope everyone is doing ok. I'm afraid I'm still struggling with my back. I was just thinking of @Ramrodmb, who hasn't been here much for a while. Hope you're doing ok Mark. Also Dennis @mitch4ging of course. Modoc ED Modoc ED , glad you're continuing to get better my friend. I don't know if anyone has anything exciting planned for the weekend, but either way, have a good one. Take care, and stay safe Guardians

Great and most interesting shot Jack. I hope you get some relief soon from your back issues my friend.

My knife is a Venture, H.M. Slater, Sheffield. It has some beautiful deeply grained horn handles. The bolsters are brass and the liners are steel. It is a big'un, which I really like! As a note, the blade looks very much like the blade on my big'uns from Wright's. The horn is hard to photograph but I got some photos to show you!
That is a beauty Ron. I love it!
