Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Jose, the scales on that lambfoot knife are so beautiful and the file work sets it all off.

Yes it was recovered by glennbad glennbad . As usual Glenn did a marvelous job! This stunningly beautiful Horn covered knife was actually the one Jack. I deeply regretted it at the time, but the Horn was warped and pulled away from the bolsters so much I felt I had no choice. I tried everything I could, but it wouldn’t return to normal. :( Looking back now with the beautiful and unique Ironwood in hand, the only thing I regret is not having Glenn to send me the Horn scales for a keepsake. I might could have made a key fob or something from them. :)

Ron, just a gorgeous knife. The covers really pop.

Just having some Beans on Toast ;)

Thanks Ron, yes, the African Rosewood is generally darker than the Indonesian, though the colour of the latter seems to vary greatly. Sorry you missed that one, I think there was only enough African Rosewood for 10. Wright's have used Indonesian Rosewood for many years

That looks great Ron, can you just remind me was it glennbad glennbad who re-covered it for you? Great job anyway :)

Was it this one Ron (a second)? Excuse my memory, it is getting terrible!

Jack, Your breakfast looks good but the Lambfoot knives look even better:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::D

Thank you very much for the kind words, Harvey!:)

Thank you very much, just glad we were in a position to help.
I don't know about the cream, but my wife does tell me I'm full of BS!:D

Grand photo, David :thumbsup:! I have an old hewing axe I'll have to dig up and get a photo of.

Thanks, Rob!:D:thumbsup: Rehydrating is important!

Thank you so much, Gary! It would be hard pressed for me to choose between Ironwood and Ebony. Jack Black Jack Black did an outstanding job riding shotgun on these knives! I need to pick up an ebony hafted one soon.

Glad the damn is starting to bust loose, Jack! Seems like that young man is on the fast track to making a good name for himself!:)

:D
I was out of lime!:p:thumbsup:

What a great set of pipes he has!:thumbsup: And some nice inspiration! Nice photo, Gary!:)

Thanks again, Mr. Gary!

Thank you, Jack!

That was a great and....."An Unexpected Journey "! :D:thumbsup: Thanks for another wonderful tour, Jack!:thumbsup:

A very cool foto, Harvey! Do you play guitar as well?

Beautiful heeler, John!
That is all my sister and BIL has ever had since they've been married. They still run a lot of cattle, and those are just some incredible dogs! Very smart. :)

Chin, you're a chili madman! Anymore, just some Serrano peppers are as about as hot as I go. Nice looking harvest! I'll post our latest here as well, much more mild. :D

:cool::thumbsup:

It's been in the 90's here and humid as soup:mad:. Can't wait for fall and camping trips!

Hey....Gummies for the next Guardians Lambsfoot covers!:D
Looking good, Jack!

Beautiful terrain, cool knife, can't be nothing but a great photo! You nailed it, Dan!:)

I always called them "Heeler" as well, thought Cattle Dog was just their job title. Either way, glad you picked up the little fella!

Patina is looking good, John!

I didn't get a Rosewood, so I forget how nice they look!;) Nice one, Ron.

A Super Two for Tuesday, Rob! Both are lookers!:thumbsup:

Great coloring, Bill! Nice shot!

Some beautiful horn covers on that one!;)

:D:thumbsup:
I have Ohm's Law burnt into my mushy brain, being in radio and electronics repair for the last 20 years. Went to Ft Gordon for the school, then was stationed at Orlando at the Navy NTC, a really big change for an Army grunt! Met some good Navy folks, was pretty good friends with our neighbor, he was a SeaBee.

Another artistic shot, Harvey! Great mix of colors and textures!:):thumbsup:

Some of our latest pull from the garden.

Have a great Humpday, Guardians!

Nice harvest Dennis and a beautiful lambfoot knife. The tooling on the sheath and belt are also very nice.

Woke up to another gloomy day but I'm feeling good because I have my HHB with me today. What is it about this knife? I'm constantly drawn to carrying it.:thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

That is my photo Jack. I’m glad you were able to find it because I couldn’t readily find it. I’ll wait to see if Glenn reads this since we both quoted his user name. If he does have the Horn maybe he’ll reach out to me. :)

I don't throw much out Ron! :D I suspect, with all the work he does, Glenn may have to be better disciplined than I am, but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask :D ;)

Thank you Bill :) Sorry to hear about the weather there, but I'm glad you're so fond of your Hartshead Barlow :)

Thank you for the kind words about my Ironwood big ‘un Bill! :) I understand why you would be drawn to your Hartshead. It’s such a beautiful knife with that Carmel Stag! :D

Thanks Jack. We are having a lot of bad weather here and more on the way. Sort of puts a crimp in my yard work. I actually use my HHB in the wet weather but I'm quick to air blow it dry with my compressor and then wipe it down using Air Venturi MP-5 metalophilic oil. Been using it for years on my German made Beeman RX2 air rifle.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I haven’t camped in years but I would most certainly appreciate some fall temperatures and lower humidity!
I'm going to be 57 years old this year... My wife and I are finally talking about a travel trailer. My wife gave up camping years ago and my back has been revolting against it for a couple of years now.

Rorschach!

Cool pic John, Happy Camping buddy
Thank you, Jack. :)

Hey! How did you get such a small Hartshead? ;):D

dly about wood I'm going with bark on wooden Wednesday;)

That knife is appropriate for every day of the week.:thumbsup:

Small HHB? Don't get them wet...Mine wasn't preshrunk from the factory:D

Here's a pic of my Rosewood Lambsfoot Knives :)

YFev8wD.jpg

On the left is one of a short SFO run I had made up with African Rosewood. Next to it is another short-run SFO with Indonesian Rosewood, and a polished blade. In the centre is a standard A. Wright & Son Lambsfoot and Pen, with Indonesian Rosewood. Next is my Hartshead Barlow in Indonesian Rosewood. On the right is the Big 'Un I'm carrying today, also in Indonesian Rosewood
Rosewood is a wonderful material. Good for handgun stocks too. Think I'll tote my African rosewood lambsfoot tomorrow.

Bill, that's a beauty. I know exactly how you feel, can't put my finger on it, but this knife just speaks to me. My eldest daughter pointed to my small collection last night, which includes a couple nice and rare GECs, and asked me which was my favorite. There was no hesitation, the HHB. She agreed :D I have three children to split my knives between when they're older, but I think this one has her name on it. Here's mine with some yummy beef tips and mashed potatoes.

Outstanding Lambsfoot Rob  :)

Sorry to hear that Bill, I hope it settles down soon  After a great Spring, July has been miserable here so far. At least it's not actually raining today  Good for you, I don't think it'll come to any harm, I don't really do much with mine, apart from sharpening, and the occasional drop of oil :) Nice air rifle

I have backpacked most of my life, but have struggled these past few years :( I was planning to do some cabin camping this Spring, but that obviously got postponed. I'll be 60 next year, and hope I can still manage it, this lockdown has certainly not been good for my fitness o_O

Rorschach!

I go away for a couple of days, and the beans are out of control. Happy Wednesday Guardians!

That's good to hear :) Your daughter has great taste! :D I have been surprised at the extent to which my Hartshead Barlow has taken over my pocket, it's rare that I don't have it with me :)

My problem with camping now is that I have to get up about every two hours, and sometimes the latrine is FAR away from the tent. Also, my wife blames me for breaking a tent door zipper, accusing me of being impatient. :p

I may have saved it, I'll have to check. Some old covers I save if they are in serviceable shape when I remove them. If they get damaged during dis-assembly, then they get tossed.

I know the feeling Vince : I'm sure your wife would have complained more if you hadn't got out of the tent fast enough! :D ;)

You did a great job of that knife Glenn, lovely Ironwood

You have large hands, my friend. :D

Great photo and impressive crop.:thumbsup:

I can see why it's your favorite.:thumbsup:

My wife loves cabin camping... I enjoy it too as long as it's mixed with isolation.

Best line in a movie ever.:thumbsup:

I have to get up about every two hours
That's my wife... and the reason our new trailer HAS to have a bathroom.
I wanted a little teardrop trailer with sleeping quarters and a rear kitchen, but she has to have a bathroom.

Pick the one with the nail nick, they're easier to open. ;)
