Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks, Dennis. :)
They are pretty dogs.

Too smart for their own good.
Border Collies are smart and well-behaved... Heelers are smart and devious. ;)

Ya... for some reason they changed their name to Cattle Dog.
I still refer to them as Queensland Heelers... Old habits. :D

Thanks, Dennis. :)
Patina-Flitz-Repeat...

Great picture, Dennis. :cool::thumbsup:

Sorry to hear that. I'm waiting for us to do the same thing, people aren't behaving as they should.

Great picture, Jack. :cool::thumbsup:

Beautiful rose garden, Jack. :cool::thumbsup:

I wonder... Are your beans hot or cold?

That wood is spectacular! :cool::thumbsup:

I use the exact same sharpening system. :cool::thumbsup:
I usually clamp the bolster into the vice, it's the only way it works with the narrow blades..
The original name was " Halls Heelers ". They were bred by a gentleman called Hall from blue merle collies and dingoes, they were cross bred back and forth about 10 times till they came up with the Halls Heeler, which became Blue Heeler due to their color from the collie. They were bred to round up cattle in the harsh Australian outback conditions. I think the blue merle collies were from Scotland originally, they had all the qualities needed for a cattle dog, but were not tough enough, so he crossed them with the local dingoes which were adapted to the harsh conditions. Their name morphed into " Blue Heelers " over time, but they fell out favor and with cross breeding the " Australian Cattle Dog " became the dog of choice. Many people have these as pets, they are easier to handle than the real " Blue Heelers ". Sadly the pure bred " Blue Heeler " will probably die out, because they are no longer the breed of choice i think there are only about 3 breeders of them left in Australia. Many of the dogs that are called "Blue Heelers ", are not, it is like calling all knives "Lambfoot ", there got my lambfoot into my ramble. Most of the cattle dogs now are a result of mixed breeding, and the generic name is " The Australian Cattle Dog".

Wishing everyone a wonderful Thursday!

This software is becoming very irksome - almost not worth using it on the mobile.

I had some quotes and it appears that I've lost them. I'll need to rectify that on the morrow.

A recycled pic for now. I haven't added any new ones to the flock this year - plenty of things that seem to be throwing wrenches into such aspirations.

Happy Wednesday, Guardians.

Thanks for checking Glenn! If you find it drop me a PM and I'll PayPal you some postage money! :) :thumbsup:

I took a look last night. I thought I had them, but it was a different pair. I'll look again, but if they were that warped, I probably chucked them.

I've tried all that... Didn't work.
One flight, many years ago, I turned my wife's wrist all black and blue from squeezing it. I felt so bad.

Have a nice evening and hope the weather is nice for you tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that John, at least you live in a beautiful country, where there plenty of travel options, which don't involve flying :thumbsup:

Thank you my friend, the weather is still lousy, but I did manage to find some jelly babies for you (two different sizes)! :D :thumbsup:

Mate, thanks for the comment and your concern. But i'm completely unfazed by the lockdown, i am used to it and we have escaped this virus fairly unscathed in the scheme of things. After all the terrible scenes i have seen from your country and around the world, i feel so lucky and blessed. As humans we are good at adapting, so back in March when we went into our first lockdown i just changed everything i did to fit the circumstances, i have kept doing the same things after lockdown finished anticipating another lockdown. So nothing has or will change for me until we have more clarity to as what will happen, and that may take a while. Thanks for your thoughts though, means a lot mate, and you take care and look after yourself and family, and i hope your weather improves, won't be long before your into winter.

Thanks a lot pal, that's a very sensible attitude :) 45,000 deaths here, and I think that could double, or worse, by the time things are over :( :thumbsup:

Jack, I have a question about a cutlery co from Sheffield....I apologize for this not being Lambfoot related.

Les, many years ago, I posted a Lambsfoot thread, which ended up being hijacked by discussions about other patterns. For that reason, as I thought you were aware, I have sought to keep the discussion of other knives to an absolute minimum. Since your question has nothing to do with Lambsfoot knives, it doesn't belong here, and I would appreciate it if you would edit/delete your post. If you would like to start a thread about your knife, preferably with photos, I will provide an answer there, if I can.

Abalone at Sunset...

Cool background John :thumbsup:

Great to see some more African Rosewood :) :thumbsup:

Looking good Taylor, good to see a Lambsfoot that's seen plenty of honest use :) :thumbsup:

A wonderful evening at home...

Magical :) :thumbsup:

Sorry to hear about the quotes Dylan :( Wow! What an incredible collection you have, each one a superb example of the pattern I think :cool: Fabulous photo my friend :) :thumbsup:

Good Afternoon Guardians, just coming up to 1pm here, and I came back early from the market to try and intercept my parcel deliveries. Got the first one, and I'm hoping the others will be here soon :) It rained all night here, heavily, and right through until lunchtime. It's eased off a bit now, but still drizzling. Not sure when summer is going to start :rolleyes: Hope everyone is having a good day :) :thumbsup:

Good Morning Guardians

That's starting to take on some nice patina Jon :thumbsup:

Awesome, hope they weren't $50/lb like they are here. ;)
Which reminds me, I need to get more Jammie Dodgers and Tea Biscuits.

No, not at all :) More expensive were the liquorice toffees I bought at the same time, which have just cost me a dental crown o_O
