Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Looking good my friend :) Hope the gardening was OK. It started off quite nice here, but had gone downhill by 10.00am o_O Hope everyone is having a good weekend, I've been enjoying carrying this Little 'un in Sambar

That one's a lovely little 'un. :)
It's quite chilly today, but I'm not going to complain. We will get more than our share of heat soon.

I had one of these Brother Typewriters in the 1980's (cost me £250!), it's the most modern piece of equipment at the A.Wright & Son factory :D

Looking good Jack, your ahead of me by 7hrs me thinks.
I'm thinking this Lambs foot style of knife is starting to kick in, as I am ordering another in ebony.
Last week I received an A Wright rosewood lambs foot,
also a clip point. I had one heck of a time getting them sharp enough to even cut printer or news paper. What do you fellows do to get them in shape.? Also at what angle works best for these blades?

Thank you :) Yes, it's mid afternoon here in Yorkshire

I'm glad to hear you've taken to the pattern. Sorry to hear you're struggling to get them sharp, I'm finding Wright's edges reasonable these days, and sharpening a straight blade is relatively straight forward. Lots of folks have experimented with edge angles, including myself, but I find 20 degrees a side about right. One of our Guardians, Greg @WhittlinAway very kindly set up a thread index, with the help of some other volunteers (thanks guys) - https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/guardians-of-the-lambsfoot.1406735/page-172#post-17681582 - There are links there about breaking in, sharpening, and feeding and maintenance. Please feel to ask any questions, and report on your experiences here though

You're welcome, there's some good reading there :) That one was done on a Sharpmaker, didn't take long at all

I was just just looking at it on Instagram Paul! :D Please tell us all about it mate :)
Thanks jack
I got an old lambsfoot as a gift and was given permission to take it apart and copy it with a "Mason" look to it.
The original was in pretty good shape, so i will put it back together at some point.
Its 3 1/2" closed
RWL-34 blade and spring
Black/green micarta scales with a nickle silver shield as a "nod" to the donor knifes bolsters.
