Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thinking of going to the Royal Armouries Museum tomorrow, and carrying my under-carried Hartshead Barlow in Rosewood :)

Jack, your Rosewood HHB should have fit in well with all the other sharp tools in that museum. Very nice Lambsfoot knife. Was your visit to the museum interesting? Looks like a great building.

Good morning Guardians and all. Another fabulous morning here in coastal NC. The wedding I attended was beautiful along with that day and the evening. We've been blessed with really spectacular weather for the few weeks. One of the best fall seasons I can remember. Back to carrying my HHB today.

Thanks.
Yeah. The Lord may have had mercy. I haven't heard the squirrel since. It's possible that when he went out to forage he found his ladder gone, had to throw himself off the roof, and said to hell with it. (I cut back that split wild cherry that had become too close to the house during the night.)

Good move Jer, hope it's fixed the problem :)

Thank you very much Bill, glad everything is going well there :) Cool pic  It was a nice day here too, and I enjoyed the visit to the museum. Not great for photos, but I'll try and post a few tomorrow, and maybe some more when I've finished editing them :)
Still having fun with this one!

Good Morning Guardians.
Enjoying my morning fire with a good cup of coffee.
Looking forward to watching some good football today... Go Hawks!

Great start to the day John, and a fantastic pic :) I hope your Hawks do well :)
Thank you Jack.

It certainly does have a great Patina!
Back into the pocket it goes this morning!
Have an awesome day everyone!
Hope you had a great day too Duncan :)

It's 7.30pm here, and since I woke up at 4.00am, and have walked a few miles today, (as well as doing some good eating), I'm already feeling pretty beat! Enjoy the rest of the day Guardians

Project update. The bone knife opener has been in the solution for 5 weeks toady, has nearly gone back to the natural bone colour, will leave it for 1 more week then remove it, then see what direction to take. Have a good week everyone.

That's very interesting Leon, and pretty cool 😎👍

Iggy looks fantastic, you have a loyal friend there.

Want a full report when you have tried it.😀😀😀
Thanks Leon.
As for the Hendos, I have to say it is definitely worth giving it a try.

Nice Kevin :) It's great to see Iggy here, and a superb photo there

That's a cute pup, Kevin. 🤠

That’s one handsome pit! Best dogs hands down!
Jack ,John and sf fanatic , Thanks for the warm welcome for Iggy. I have only had him for a week and things are going very well.
Now if I can convince him that a hundred pounds is too heavy for a lap dog.:D

The ol' ox horn has been hanging out with me today .

Good luck on him not being a lap dog. Our Louie thinks he is and let’s face it pits are people dogs.

I've been carrying Lam Jack, my 2017 horn Guardians lambsfoot since last Monday, and will switch him for a different lambsfoot tomorrow. Here are some pics of Lam Jack's time with me over the years.

I love that word 'snag' :) Australian-English is such a rich and interesting language, which very much reflects the Australian spirit I think. Only Australians would refer to a ferocious, oversized, man-eating crocodile, (the 'Saltie'), as if it were some kind of bar-snack! :D
Food lesson for the day. Over here we have pastry type delicacy that you have with your cup of tea mid morning or afternoon. There is a competition held every year where there are 100's of entries judged by a panel for the title of " Best Vanilla Slice for - enter the year. This can mean big business for the bakery that wins, people will travel and go out of their way to buy these from the title holder. They are custard between 2 layers of pastry, the custard sandwiched between. Custard is the base for many deserts, ice-cream is only frozen custard, the recipes for the winning entries are tightly held secrets, think of, i could tell you the recipe, but i would have to kill you.;)😂. But like all things, if you get a bad one they are only for the bin, they taste ghastly, but good ones are to die for. Highly un-healthy, but something you only have as an occasional treat. I have a shop near my mail box collection post office, but the que to get them can be out of the shop, so i keep going. But i bought one this morning from another bakery, these are good, but not like the ones near my post office. Can also make a great desert on a hot summers night, get your sharpest Lambsfoot and cut up into squares and have with cream, you can feel your arteries clogging up, but you'll take risk. The straight edge of the Lambsfoot is perfect for cutting them up.

Here is a photo of the one i purchased this morning, the second photo was the half i devoured with my mid morning cup of tea, still in the middle of a cold snap here.

And Jack in reference to your above quote, you do not want to know the" vernacular Aussie slang" for these delicacies. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣:p:thumbsup:

Thank you, Jack. :)

Glad you had a good day... you'll sleep well tonight. 🤠
Thanks buddy

Great pics Leon, it's nice to hear that the vanilla slice is held in such high regard there :) With fewer independent bakers, and shifting fashions, they are not as common here as they were in the past, but they have always been a favourite of mine :) I had one on Thursday, but I have to confess, it was eaten greedily, in one go! :D That's a great idea though :) I had to look up that Aussie slang, and I have to say I didn't have to look far! :D It seems to be as hotly debated as the pronunciation of the word 'scone' is here! 🤣 🤣 ;)
Five Star Dining at Home. :D
Wow John, what a feast! :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend :) Mine was busier than usual, but very enjoyable :) Have a good week everyone
