Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

They are good, but I like Digestives better... but Digestives have gotten very expensive over here.

Blimey, if that happened here, there'd probably be rioting! :D ;)

Good morning Guardians, another day with my Hartshead Barlow :) Can it get any better? ;) Have a good day everyone

I was going to pull it out on Monday, that would have been 6 weeks in the solution, but have a busy week this week. So decided to leave it for another week or possibly 2 just to see the result.

Very good Leon, I'll look forward to seeing how it's going. Thanks for your most recent update :)

Wonderful picture, Jack. 🀠
I like the weather a little chilly myself.
Hope the rest of your day is a good one.
Thanks John, me too, though, so long as it isn't raining, I'm happy! :D I've just been doing some stuff out in the garden, and having a nice enough day my friend, I hope yours is good too :)

Good Morning Guardians
Going to start the day with a little yard work.
Then we are heading downtown to see our annual Day Before Thanksgiving Day Parade.
It's been a tradition in our little town for many many years. It's a typical small town parade with the marching band, 4H and FFA animals, old cars, etc.

Sounds great John, have fun :)

I'm sure all our US Guardians are looking forward to Thanksgiving Day tomorrow, and I hope as many of you as possible get to spend it with your families, and those you care about, and that you have a fantastic day :) I'm thankful for all the friendship here on The Porch, and in the Guardians thread in particular

Here, tomorrow is just another Thursday, and I'll be going down to the market, as usual, to keep my pal company, keep an eye on his stall when he's gone for a pie, and hopefully eat some cake ;) The last time I used this image as a background for a Lambsfoot pic, I think a few folks found it mildly disturbing, so I thought I'd show where it's taken from this time, and in advance of anyone asking, explain a little about it. The picture is one of a series of 17th century engravings produced by Gerard Valck and Nicolas de l'Armessan, this one depicting a fantastical representation of 'The Clothing of the Cabinet Maker'. Other engravings show the members of other itinerant trades, and craftsmen - the cutler, the painter, the pastry cook, the astrologer, the musician-cooper, knife grinder, perfumer, locksmith, firework-maker, feather-seller, etc - in similar form. Add a (good) few pounds, and a few years too, and that cabinet-maker could be my mate unloading his Landrover to set up his second-hand tool stall! :D

I have followed this thread for the past couple of years and have been interested in finding a good lambsfoot knife. There have been few on the Knife Exchange here, or on eBay, so I decided to try my luck with ordering a new Joseph Rodgers direct from England. It arrived today and I present here some pictures. View attachment 1688605The horn covers are spectacular, particularly the mark side. Fit and finish is wonderful. Bolster transitions perfect. Pull is about a 6. My only small complaint is that the backspring is a tiny bit low when closed. Weight is 64 grams (2.25 ounces), blade length 2-1/4" and 5-1/8" open, 3-1/2 closed. These dimensions are right in my sweet spot for EDC. Glad to finally be a knife-carrying member of the thread, at long last.

I'm glad you've had a good experience finding a good one.

Hi Dave, good to have you here, and I'm glad you got a decent Lambsfoot :) Can you please edit your post though, you're breaking a whole bunch of forum rules there. Thanks

Please read:

And in terms of this thread:

It's fine to say you got a Joseph Rodgers, and that you're pleased with it, but not to mention the vendor, or give them feedback. We talk about knives, not the BUYING of knives

Jer @scrteenedporch , can you edit the quote in your post please ?
