It's fine to say you got a Joseph Rodgers, and that you're pleased with it, but not to mention the vendor, or give them feedback. We talk about knives, not the BUYING of knives
Jer @scrteenedporch , can you edit the quote in your post please ?![]()

Welcome aboard. I just posted a J Rodgers, glad you like yours, looks a good 'un.Corrected. And thanks!
It's finished with a varnish, i have thought of finishing some of my wrights with some Tru-Oil, but i do like the natural finish of wood. A few coats of Renwax gives them a nice finish, but i am not in Dan'sI do like the look of the Rodgers Rosewood Leon, it's more glossy than the Rosewood Wright's use, for example![]()
I'm just re-posting a couple of Dave's pics, looks like some nice hornWelcome aboard. I just posted a J Rodgers, glad you like yours, looks a good 'un.![]()
Interesting, I don't think anyone else in Sheffield does that. A few Guardians have modded the covers in various ways. I have to say I'm something of a minimalist/lazy!It's finished with a varnish, i have thought of finishing some of my wrights with some Tru-Oil, but i do like the natural finish of wood. A few coats of Renwax gives them a nice finish, but i am not in Dan'sCelloDan league, he is very qualified with wood finishing.

It does give it a classy finish, it is what a lot of the old timers/knifers would call a Sunday best knife. It would only be pulled out on Sunday for Sunday best, the rest of the week was usually work clothes with a old work knife.I don't think anyone else in Sheffield does that.
