Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Looks like I haven't posted here for a week; sorry.:( Something seems to be wrong with 2022 - there's far less time in each day than has been the case in previous years! o_O
Who knows where the times goes eh Gary? :D :)

Showing off some of your vices/vises, Jack?? šŸ¤“:cool:
I've acquired a few new ones lately ;) :D
Great sunny pics, Jack!:cool::cool: Taken with the new camera?
Thank you my friend, those were actually taken with my old compact :)
Really enjoyed those photos, Jack!:cool::cool: I like your version of winter more than my version! ;)
Thanks again Gary, most of those are taken with my new camera :) Still messing around with it

It's great to see the return of Cracker Jack :) Cool pic
I’ve experienced some strange phenomena recently as well Gary. I’m calling it ā€œstorage shrinkage.ā€ The other day I got out a sweater that I haven’t worn for a few years and it was much smaller than I remembered! 🤣
🤣 🤣
Sounds nice Jack, cool photo.šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘
Thanks Todd :)
My Lambsfoot helped with a little breakfast this morning. 🤣View attachment 1725298
Looks like a healthy start to the day buddy :)

Looks a bit frosty, Jack... But makes for a beautiful picture. 🤠
Your beloved Seattle Seahawks have WAY more than 6 legs!
Yes, but they play like they all have one leg recently... not scary to anybody. 🤣
I love your AC, GT... my favorite name too. 🤠
Love that picture, Jer. 🤠
I'm ready for a little Spring weather myself.
It's actually been really nice here, so I can't complain.
I’m calling it ā€œstorage shrinkage.ā€
Lol... 🤣
i call it the COVID 19 lbs. 🤣
That looks just like my house, except my dog would be in the picture too... He likes to "supervise". 🤣

LOL! :D Yes indeed, I remember putting a simple bird feeder up on the tree in my front garden, many years ago. I walked back into the house, and the feeder was on the floor. I went to investigate, and in the space of about 3 minutes, it had been badly chewed, and then just ripped off the tree! I was thinking of getting another, but there are always squirrels in my garden, and apparently they're offering a Nobel prize for anyone who invents a truly squirrel-proof feeder! :D Some great videos online

Unfortunately, these past couple of weeks, the local squirrels have taken to foraging in my lazy idiot neighbour's over-filled bins, eating garbage, and littering my garden

Haha Jack, nice one thanks for posting. I've watched dozens of YT vids looking at how folk fail at defeating squirrels. 🧐

Headed home after two quick stops. Point Cabrillo Light House and MacKerricher State Park. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Great trip, it’s gonna be nice to get home šŸ‘šŸ‘

What great pics; looks a great coast to explore.

It's been a while since I was last able to sneak out for a mid-week walk, but I managed to get out of the city for one today. It was in the 30's all day, but it sure made a difference when the sun came out. Unfortunately, I spent most of my walk with it in my eyes  I finished off in the park I walked in last week, so took a pic of the castle folly for @CelloDan , along with a few others :)

Great photos, looks like a great walk. I'd much rather have cold and frosty than dull and raining like we had recently.

Pretty neat trick building that roof inside the shell-keep.
Cool model.

Good morning Guardians! -16° out when I took Eleanor to school this morning, -11° currently, so I’m going to stay indoors and dream about warm summer afternoons drinking beer outside. šŸ˜Ž

Nice to see you here my friend :) I'm afraid you missed a LOT in terms of Lambsfoot knives :( Between 2017 and 2019 I had about a dozen Lambsfoot SFOs made up, to my design, under the previous ownership of Wright's (few examples below). Many of the knives you'll see here are those knives, and other standard models, manufactured during the same period, when they were a much better company than today. There are some beautiful vintage models too, but they're getting scarcer and scarcer :( Good luck in finding one Mr P, and be sure to PM me if I can help. Also, be sure to check out post #1 here

Good Morning Guardians
Friday is my "work-from-home' day, so I'll be enjoying my Lambsfoot all day long.
Happy Lambfoot at home Day, John.

If they were bigger, they'd probably be running the world! :D

Thanks a lot David, me too, I like the cold, sunny weather, that long period of rain and overcast skies was downright depressing

Wow David, what stunning pics, you certainly picked a great day for a walk  I'm reminded of how long it is since I was last on Kinder Scout :(
Such a cool picture... no pun intended. 🤠
Very impressive

Thank you kindly Dylan :) I hope you're able to get out for a hike today :) I know what you mean there, I've got a few aches today, as I haven't been able to get out for a while :D That looks like a very tasty beverage there, and a stunning pic of your AC  :)

Thank you, Jack. Unfortunately, a hike was not in the cards last weekend - blasted weather was disagreeable and I wasn't interested in contending with soggy clothing and muddy boots. This weekend is looking promising though!

What a fantastic picture of your HHB. You really have skills with a camera, especially capturing the patina.

Thank you, my friend - I definitely pretend real good, at least 😁.

Great to tag along virtually on you walk Jack
A variety of landscapes along the way to keep things interesting. Some very old trees too by the looks of it.

I chuckled when I saw your choice of bars for your walk.
Just today my wife sent me to do some grocery shopping and, after being confronted with way too many choices at the supermarket I picked up a box of Larabar.

I can not recall trying them before however I just finished a couple of them and wash them down with yerba mate.

I was exhausted after the walk and needed to fuel up 😁

Yerba Mate - that brings back memories. I spent about a month in Argentina when I was a teen and I found it to be a curious yet very rewarding experience. The people down there are absolutely lovely and they certainly did a lot to pull me out of my comfort zone. Greetings with a kiss on the cheek, pastry peddlers in the wee hours of the morning and their infernal whistles/bells, impromptu football matches, and every gathering involved yerba mate - someone brought the thermos, another brought the cup and straw, someone else had the tea and yet another brought the sugar. There was a lot of love down there - it remains one of my most cherished travels.

I remember bringing back with me a jar of dulce de leche, a bag of yerba mate, and a cup and straw. I've long since lost the cup and straw and I haven't looked to replace it yet - I should remedy that.

Thank you for prompting the trip down memory lane.

Outstanding shot of your AC, Dylan!:thumbsup::cool:

Thank you so much, GT!

That's a shame Dylan, we had about a month of rotten weather here. The forecast tomorrow isn't great, but so long as it isn't raining, I'm happy - or as happy as a GOG gets! :D I hope you can get out my friend :)

Happy memories Dylan, thanks for sharing them :) I haven't had Mate for about 10 years, or maybe a little more, but would enjoy trying it again :) I miss travelling, and the great folks you meet

You mentioned in a post a while ago about sharpening and leather strops and diamond applications. I never tell anyone what to do or how to spend their money, but if i may make a suggestion, do your research and be sure of what you want to purchase, it is not only a rabbit hole, but a money burning pit going down that path. I have no idea of your needs and requirements, but i can say with confidence, the average knife person does not need these in their sharpening kit, it is expensive over kill. I could go on but don't want to hi-jack the Lamb content, but if you or others would like my thoughts would be more than happy to share them, i have a drawer full of diamond pastes and sprays, and different leathers, glad i bought them to experiment with, but spent a lot that i did not need to, only to try them and satisfy what i needed to know, don't want to see other people spend money they don't need too. As jack will vouch for, we all have sharpening equipment that seemed like a good idea, till you get them and think why did i buy that. My thoughts and rant for the day.:)
Thank you for that my friend, I usually just use a Diamond Stone- it has a fine side and the other is extra fine, I made a Strop with a weight lifting Belt piece glued onto a block of wood, I also purchased a Water stone some time ago that I keep in water- that's about my limit.
I am interested what you have to say- always- but this would veer away from the Lambsfoot topic, there is a Sharpening section somewhere or where ever you'd like to post I'm keen to read your suggestions - and Thank you in advance! :)
