I enjoy it because you can work on other things at the same time.I do have to admit, I liked the work from home days.
They are using 3 different ones at the moment. Read this in an article about the current state of Sheffield cutlery. Don't know why, the article did not say.Has Wright&Son started using a different tang stamp
Thanks Leon! I knew you’d know the answer. I’m curious, what is the third stamp? They are using 3 different ones at the moment. Read this in an article about the current state of Sheffield cutlery. Don't know why, the article did not say.
I'll try and track it down. !!!Thanks Leon! I knew you’d know the answer. I’m curious, what is the third stamp?
Yerba Mate - that brings back memories. I spent about a month in Argentina when I was a teen and I found it to be a curious yet very rewarding experience. The people down there are absolutely lovely and they certainly did a lot to pull me out of my comfort zone. Greetings with a kiss on the cheek, pastry peddlers in the wee hours of the morning and their infernal whistles/bells, impromptu football matches, and every gathering involved yerba mate - someone brought the thermos, another brought the cup and straw, someone else had the tea and yet another brought the sugar. There was a lot of love down there - it remains one of my most cherished travels.
I remember bringing back with me a jar of dulce de leche, a bag of yerba mate, and a cup and straw. I've long since lost the cup and straw and I haven't looked to replace it yet - I should remedy that.
Thank you for prompting the trip down memory lane
There is the 2 that you posted, and the 3rd one is a rectangle, i can't find where i saw it, but i think it has A.Wright England in a rectangle, but don't quote me on that. Thanks Leon! I knew you’d know the answer. I’m curious, what is the third stamp?
Greetings Guardian’s! I have a question for the guru’s here. Has Wright&Son started using a different tang stamp? The last two I’ve gotten have an oval stamp with made in Sheffield in the center rather than the line script. Once again thanks for your all’s knowledge.

I could never get used to the constant greetings on the cheek with a kiss to pretty much everyone lol ... it was just torture for me !!!
so I grew up in a constant "out of my comfort zone" state.
I totally empathize with you.
And yet ... what did I do in my first week in Canada ?
I remember going to church and being presented to the pastor and his wife. I greeted her and kissed her on the cheek lol and she was sort of taken aback and glanced a me with a confused, annoyed look on her face![]()
Thanks Jack! I’m just a curious yank with way too much time on his handThe stamps wear quickly, and so can look different after 6 months, since they cut less crisply, but they have also had a few different designs over the years. Many dealers prefer the generic Sheffield stamps, rather than the A. Wright stamps, and I don't blame them. Also, cutlers, such as Trevor Ablett, and Michael May, in the past, buy blades from Wright's stamped in this way. As Leon says, there is a third stamp, which at least one of their customers seems to prefer.
