Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Loved the armoury pics, as well, Jack! Thank you for sharing.

(My inner Star Wars nerd is pleased too).

More sun!
I'm blinded! :D
Time for a Presidents Day lunch from the Submarine Center the best sandwich shop in the City. The Atomic with extra hot pastrami, turkey, corned beef, jalapeños, provolone mustard and their special sauce. I skip the lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. 😋😋 Oh yeah, a generous splash of Henderson’s!

WOW!!! That looks like one heck of a sammich! :)
Jack that soup looks phenomenal! Glad you got to get outside of the house. We finally have some weather coming tomorrow. Snow and rain!
Thanks Taylor, I felt like I was on parole! :D Sorry to hear about the weather there my friend, I hope it passes over sharpish

Thank you good sir, you may be able to find other pics from the Armouries, in this thread, with the search function :)

Threw this in my pocket. Big “storm” rolling through tomorrow, so I got an extra load of fire wood to the house. I’m excited because it’s the first weather we have had come through in a while. We had a great start to our winter season, but it dried out. Hopefully this is a sign of a wet end of winter and spring.

On a side note, I just bought a kit for making mead. My dad and I are gonna try and make some this weekend. Either cherry or pomegranate. I will keep the Guardians posted!

Fantastic pic Taylor  I hope you get the rain you need, and that the mead-making goes well  :)

Ends up we are going shopping... Not fun.

My condolences, John. I hope you got to do something fun for at least part of your day off!

Oh, how cool! I’ve brewed plenty of beer, but never made a mead. Nor tasted one for that matter. 🤔 Please do keep us posted.

I’m just back from a long weekend trip up to Bend, Oregon. We were treated to beautiful—and, I’m assuming, unseasonably warm—weather for most of our stay. This morning it was 27F when we left and we drove through two hours‘ worth of mostly light snow before we broke clear. Fortunately everyone on the roads was driving responsibly.

While we were there, my wife made some chocolate donuts. I showed one earlier, but here is another in its full tasting experience, accompanying a local coffee stout. :D

Thank you Barrett, I noticed that about the church in Wells. I think it's only down to your good self that I even know where Hot Fuzz was filmed (though I have watched the 'extras') I'm glad nobody was injured. Great pics my friend

Thanks, Jack. I’d say Wells is definitely worth a visit if you’re ever down that way.

I didn't realise that was still there! Sad it was wrecked though :( It reminded me of something similar I used to see in Sheffield as a kid ;)

I believe that statue was moved to Simon Pegg’s home after they finished the film. I imagine it wasn't exactly made to last, but it’s still a shame.

Interesting sculpture on the building there. I googled it and saw that it was meant to be the Roman god Vulcan, which is certainly fitting for Sheffield.

When I entered the museum, the kind lady on the door asked me if I was a Star Wars fan, as they had a display for the school holidays. I told her I had a friend who was a fan, thinking of JohnDF JohnDF :D

I took a few more pics inside the museum, but it was very busy, and several of the galleries had been temporarily re-purposed

By then, it was lunchtime, so I called into Leeds market for a bowl of my favourite Vietnamese Pho :)

Great photos from the Royal Armory, Jack.

Hate to see the flooding. Hope everything dries out soon enough.

I'm not sure what the rest of the week will bring. I've read there are FIVE named storms still on their way, and due to arrive this week, but we'll see

They’re going to run out of names! 🙄😉

That sounds and looks like a fantastic sandwich. I would’ve kept the mayo, but I’m with you on the rest. 😉😁

I’ve had a couple of good meads. One was a pomegranate flavored one that was pretty sweet. It was almost like pomegranate wine, I believe it was something like 11% alc. I’m gonna attempt to add some cherries to our brew. We will see how it goes!!

LOL

Got your Star Wars on. Nice!
Thanks Harvey, we should arrange a day to carry our Space Lambs :D
I always love everything about that picture. 🤠
Thanks pal :)
That's what I thought!

That sounds like a lovely trip Greg :) Your wife's chocolate doughnuts look delicious, as does that stout, great pic :)

I was hoping to get down that way in 2020 Barrett  Maybe I can get down there this year :)

That's sad :( There is a more classical statue of Vulcan atop Sheffield Town Hall, and the god is widely referenced in the city. The Sheffield coat of arms also includes Thor, but he never seems to get a mention.

During World War Two, after the Sheffield Blitz, some enterprising character installed a telescope on the steps of Sheffield City Hall, so that people could survey the bombed city, for the cost of a penny. It proved extremely popular with buffer girls and women steel workers, who realised they could get a perfect view of the Vulcan statue, and since he is shown naked, refresh their view of anatomy :D

Thank you my friend :) Me too, but it's raining again I'm afraid :(

Yeah, they've certainly picked a few odd ones! :D

Thinking about the coast and fresh oysters! Oh and a cold brew!

Good morning Guardians, it was sunny ten minutes ago, now it's windy, and raining heavily! As r8shell r8shell noted in the Lounge, today is Twosday! :D Thought I'd double up my Hartshead Barlow :) Have a good day everyone

Some great photos of your Rosewood and Stag HHBs. But, 5 named storms on the way? - Jeez! Stay dry and safe my friend and I hope those storms miss your locale.

Still bonding with my new Senator.
