Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Some great photos of your Rosewood and Stag HHBs. But, 5 named storms on the way? - Jeez! Stay dry and safe my friend and I hope those storms miss your locale.

Still bonding with my new Senator.

Thank you very much Bill :) I'm not sure which storm we are on at the moment, but we only had a few hours of bad weather earlier, so perhaps it's headed south. It's quite sunny here at the moment. That's some nice stag there my friend

Not much light yet.

But it's warm, and I don't have to shovel rain.

Nice picture Harvey, great knife and a darn good candy bar. 😎👍

It's great to see the pocket-watch you mentioned Harvey, it's a beauty, as is your Brookes & Crookes Lambsfoot  Superb composition my friend

My mate's little girl is better now, so if it's not flooded, we're going to go over to the National Railway Museum in York tomorrow. There's certainly a lot of flooding on the way, and very close by, but the weather forecast, for what it's worth, is reasonable, so hopefully we can get there OK. Sadly, we won't be able to stop for lunch in Tadcaster, as we'd originally planned :(

The centre of York is also probably best avoided

We might just get something to eat, in Leeds, before we set off

Think I'm going to take my AC with me, as on this previous trip to the museum

AC is a bright spot in an otherwise dreary reality.

Hi, yes they are abundant here on a private ranch. Don’t get me wrong what I showed was several visits worth of pickups. Texas was heavily occupied throughout prehistory due to a wetter climate and grasslands which brought the buffalo for thousands of years. The property here is covered in thickets. Everything has thorns so we take walks on the cleared roads. Couple of pictures View attachment 1746591View attachment 1746593
Thanks for the reply and the pics. Sorry for the late acknowledgment my internet went a bit ropey. That's really interesting that surface artifacts like that can still be found and in such abundance. I think there's only a few places in the UK were you may still find the odd flint knife or arrowhead but generally I think a lot of what there was has been found by now.

LOL! Let's put you in the living legend category. ;)
Thanks. It'll make a change from the dunces corner. :D

Oh no! I was so annoyed, after it happened to me, that I bought a bunch of SD cards, and stashed them in every bag, wallet, and camera case I had! :D That's an amazing photo up top, but the bottom one is still very impressive too David
Now why didn't I think of that.... 🤔
Cheers, both Kinder Scout those shots but from two different walks about 2 or 3 years ago maybe??

Did you not see 'Yorkshiremen in Space'?! :D A shame Brian Glover had to put on a posh accent! :D

Adult content warning - One profanity at the end of the video

Cheers no never seen that! I'll watch that.

Aliens was definitely the best of them  I know that when they send people to live on bases in the Artic/Antarctic , they look for people with even tempers and bland personalities. (I knew a bloke who was turned down from the British Antarctic Survey, because he occasionally whistled), but if you believed the movies, when it comes to space travel, they seem to recruit the most psychopathic, off-the-wall, alcoholics they can find! :D No offense to those who do the job in reality! ;)

Lol! I'd of fit right in then on LV-426. :D
They do though have an occasional barney down in Antarctica:

On Friday, wind toppled the spire on top of St. Thomas church in Wells, Somerset. You might remember that Hot Fuzz was filmed in Wells, and while this isn’t the church that was used in the film (that was St. Cuthbert’s), it’s still quite a coincidence considering what happens in the film. 😳

Thankfully no local reporters (nor anyone else) were injured.

Crikey! I don't watch our mainstream news so I completely missed that.

I’ve had a couple of good meads. One was a pomegranate flavored one that was pretty sweet. It was almost like pomegranate wine, I believe it was something like 11% alc. I’m gonna attempt to add some cherries to our brew. We will see how it goes!!
I found this chap on YT who makes mead to a viking recipe. It's on my list of things to do but I want to make it from local honey which is quite expensive.

Found it, John JohnDF JohnDF
That's a real nice pairing.

I'm repeating a pic.
