Thank you Jack.

I was listening to this as I looked at you images.

Blimey Harvey, if you get anymore chilled folks will be cooling drinks on you! :D ;)

Great bunch of pics, it looks like an amazing time :) I hope there are no long-term health effects from the poor air quality a lot of folks are suffering :(

I had an Osprey day pack I used for years. It was a great bag, but eventually the lining on the inside of the bag started to disintegrate and I had to stop using it. I still have a big Osprey pack I used for backpacking, but I never did that much backpacking (and haven’t done any for years), so it’s still in really good shape.

I decided to combine some exercise with lunch, and walk down to Charlie's Cafe ;)

I always like to follow up any exercise with a basket of fries. 🤣

Decided to smoke a meatloaf today while I tear out the garden for the year! Hope everyone is having a great day!View attachment 1928398

I’ve never been big on meatloaf, but maybe it’s because I have had one wrapped in a bacon weave! 😁 I did one on a boneless turkey breast for Thanksgiving one year, turned out pretty good.

Good quality packs, but light weight has its limitations :D

Too right, what am I doing talking about light weight?! 🤣 Hey, I had the vegetarian sandwich, I earned those fries! 😂

I was thinking, 'I never realised meatloaf was wrapped in bacon!!' :D You were eating well there mate!😂
Nice to see Old Toffee Wings Jer :)

Today, I think Sheffield has lost the skills to cut stag as thin as they did in the past. Generally, they put it on thick, and then grind it to fit, which often removes what little bark there is on the poor quality stag they generally have access to. A
It is a very common issue now in all industries. Cut costs wherever you can and compromise quality for the bottom line.

Totally mate  After WW2, most of the Sheffield cutlers tried to compete with increased competition from the Far East, by reducing the quality of their wares, as well as their prices. It was stupid thinking, and they lost, but unfortunately it led to apprentice cutlers being taught badly, by men with diminishing skills of their own :(

Don’t have time to do a complete post but figured I would sneak in and do an update on the meatloaf ! It was a feast!! View attachment 1928749View attachment 1928750
Looks it mate! 😊👍
I know where you are coming from, bad meatloaf is awful, but good meatloaf on the other hand is fantastic. And never under any circumstances buy it pre made, it has to be made from scratch at home. :) :p
I'm not sure I've ever had meatloaf, I only know of it from TV and cinema - and heavy metal of course! 😁 It seems to have a bad reputation, like something inexpensive you'd have when times are hard, but the meatloaf shown here looks like an absolute treat! 😋👍

Very true. I looked at Osprey again when I needed to replace the day pack, but they seemed to have gone even further toward ultra-lightweight gear, and I couldn’t find anything that fit my needs like the old pack I’d had. Now I have a 5.11 backpack for everyday stuff (I actually have three of them 🤣). Well made bags, definitely not lightweight. 😁

Exercise and a vegetarian sandwich? I’d say you earned dessert, too. 😉

Is it stuffed with cheese, too? 😁

I think deep down I know that, and I probably owe it to myself to try a good meatloaf, which I’d probably enjoy. I guess I was just traumatized by the meatloaves of my childhood. 🤣
