I look back to the halcyon days, not so long ago, when I could buy 4 cakes for £1 in Leeds Thursday market, but sadly, the cake-stall has not been there for a couple of months now 😢 Big Rose's days as Cake Cutter in Chief may be over, but she's still a very capable Lambsfoot, and will go in my pocket tomorrow :)

There is a guy who sells cakes and biscuits in the covered part of the market, but they're old stock. I was walking past his stall with Tool Man last year, and the bloke was trying to sell Christmas cake. He wasn't very amused, when Tool Man loudly asked him, "Which Christmas are they from mate?" 😂

Cake or no cake, it'll hopefully be a good day, and if I remember to take it out of the fridge in the morning, I'll have a nice Cornish pasty in my bag ;) Hope everyone else has a great Thursday :)

Sorry Jer, I just didn't understand, my original links ( https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...-hospital-appointment-cancelled-b2165958.html and https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...Parcs-announces-close-day-Queens-funeral.html) had a lot of ads and pop-ups, with registration required in the first case. Didn't wish to cause any offense
I didn't understand originally because I didn't look at the original links. I assumed you were talking about the generally lamentable state of the health services.
Sorry about that, chief.

I came late to Lambsfoot blades. I must say that this is a very useful blade style. I really like my A. Wright Senator too; if it was 1/4 inch shorter, was a little more svelte and had the bolster corners rounded a little more it would be close to perfect. I am quite satisfied with it the way it is though. I will say that these have a very stout spring; it's usable but the pull is on the heavy side. Is this pretty much standard for sheffield knives ( or Lambsfoot knives)

Here is the requisite picture.

Sorry Jer, I just didn't understand what you meant, that's probably why :D I wasn't certainly wasn't offended or anything my friend, not in the least :)

Nice to hear you're enjoying it Sceva :) I'm not a great fan of this Lambsfoot variant, I think there are better frames for it that have stood the test of time, rather than being a fairly recent imagining. Sheffield knives tend to come stout. The larger Lambsfoot blades tend to be easier to open I think, simply because of physics. I can pinch open all my Lambsfoot blades though. It sounds like a Lambsfoot, with the smaller Swayback frame might be what you're looking for

The pivot screws on my Sebenza had to get a splash of that Locktite for the knife to be held together 🤣 hence this sturdy mother went into my pocket today. It didn't cut anything but the climbing holds there are from Sheffield so that is something.

Jack Black Jack Black if my memory is correct then you mentioned some time ago that you once wrote for a climbing magazine? Perhaps you know of the climber behind these holds, Been Moon?
