Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Just showing this one again. It's really grown on me; I may need another Lambs Foot or two down the road. I know that some don't like the Senator pattern but I do; specially after I smoothed it up some to suit me. I also like the barlow type patter such as the Hartshead etc but they are out of my budget at the moment ( and no longer for sale) ; maybe down the road though.
too
Oh no and I just bought a senator!

Killer B&W, John.
Thank you, Harvey. :)

Gorgeous stag and wonderful craftsmanship by Jeremy. 🤠

You will like it. I found the bolster corners on mine a little too square for my liking but lightly radiusing them made it more pocketable.

Mine after rounding the corners. Done with files, abrasive papers of various grits, and a polish with autosol (similar to Flitz)

That looks superb, thanks for sharing.

Thanks Jack - this old truck resides out on my daily walk with hundreds of other old junk and artifacts on the ranch at the end of our road.

Nice bit you posted up on Harold Wilson. Harold has an interesting history. Wilson was PM of UK twice in the 60s and 70s and also
a Baron - Baron Harold Wilson of Rievaulx. A liberal politician that was successful during his terms. He had an interesting history.
It makes for a great photo Dave :) I remember Wilson very well from being a kid, in fact I watched him (unexpectedly) resign, live on TV. His later Baronry aside, he was a much more down to earth politician than the ones we have today. Holidays, for example, were an annual trip to the Scilly Islands, just off the British coast, where he liked to go walking and birdwatching, with his wife Mary. Now our prime ministers want to stay in the castle of a Russian Oligarch, or on a private island, of equally dubious ownership, every other week 🤨
Thank you, Jack. :)

I'm looking forward to my first big train trip this Summer... to Omaha and Back.
I'll be headed out to Omaha for one son's graduation, and then heading back home for my other son's graduation.
It's a two day train trip out to Omaha, The longest I've ever been on a train before has been a couple of hours.
Fantastic John, that'll be an adventure  Do many folks travel long-distance on the trains anymore? I've travelled all over Europe on them, but a day and a half is probably about the longest I think. One of the old fellers who visits the tool stall was a train driver on steam trains. He's a very down-to-earth guy. Years later, his best friend died, and willed him his house. Brian and his missus had their own house, so they sold it. They were in their 70's at the time, with no kids, so they decided to go right across Russia on the Trans-Orient Express! I was looking at this yesterday, but think I might be getting a bit long in the tooth :( Wish I'd thought of it a few years ago

too
Glad you're enjoying the pattern Sceva :) Because I subsidised them, the Hartshead Barlows were cheaper than the Senators sell at, I think :) A shame we don't see more of them
All Aboard! Sweet.
Thanks Harvey! :D
Cheers🎉 some fine shooting, Jack.
Thank you my friend, that's on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway not far from me. It often appears in movies. On Saturdays, they serve some nice local ales straight from the cask too ;)

Good Morning Guardians💂‍♀️

A kind and generous Jeremy ( sbh06 sbh06 ) made three slips for me. Here’s one of them. Many thanks, Jeremy
Well done Jeremy :) Congratulations Harvey, that looks superb, as does your Lambsfoot :)
Morning Guardians !

Going to a friends wedding a bit later. It's going to be a casual affair outside so I'll carrying the Striped one today.

Hopefully the second times a charm for him 😉

Some of us love the Senator.

Thank you John.

Greetings this Saturday from Santa Cruz. It’s been sprinkling on and off this morning but it’s off now so I took my cat out for a walk and took a big cup of coffee with us. And here’s a picture.

That's a great pic :) Hope you had a nice time :) The weather here has really changed this past week, and it's been raining most of the time :(

That would be so much fun. 🤠
I'm a sucker for old ways of traveling.. seems like so much more fun and adventurous.
Perhaps even better than the destination itself.
Me too John, I like to travel by boat when I can, but I've never been on a tall ship :)

A few years back, I went down to Portsmouth by train, spent a couple of days crossing the Bay of Biscay on the boat, had a couple of days in Bilbao with friends, and then travelled to Barcelona on the train, for a week, before flying home :)

Black and white picture makes that Charlie lamb look antique. 👍🏻
All Aboard! Sweet.

Love it,

Cheers🎉 some fine shooting, Jack.

Thanks Jack. Hope you are continuing to recover back to full health.

I made meatballs, but nothing tastes very pleasant at the moment :(
Jack when I caught it I lost some of my sense of taste and smell. I was using some renaissance wax when I noticed I couldn’t smell it. Then I took a few good whiffs right from the container. Darwin Award candidate in training evidently. My good sense is still questionable but sniffer and taste buds are chip butty approved now. Glad you’re on the mend. No sniffing ren wax for you.

I'm glad it came back OK, I lost my sense of taste for 6 months once, and it was awful :( I have a very strong sense of smell, which is not always a blessing! :D

Many years ago, when I living on the west of Sheffield, and rock-climbing crazy, I had a climbing partner, who was waiting to start a teaching job. So, for a whole winter, and the following spring, we went out climbing up to 3 days a week. The other climbers we knew, thought we were crazy, climbing in the cold, and snow and rain, and walking to the crag, instead of driving, but it made all the beer we drank afterwards taste so much better. Eager to get to the rockface as quickly as possible, we'd grab a couple of packs of Soreen from a corner-shop, and that would fuel us all day. I haven't had any in years, thought they'd made the 'loaves' bigger, but it's just deceptive packaging! :D Couldn't really taste it much unfortunately
