Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That looks like a really nice example there my friend :) Look forward to seeing more of it :thumbsup:

PLEASE keep commercial discussion out of this thread, that dealer is not a BF supporter, if the forum guidelines keep being broken, it'll only be a matter of time before there has to be an intervention, which I personally don't want to see. If you want to ask questions about buying please do it by PM. Thanks :thumbsup:

I apologize

I enjoy walking, and usually walk at least 2 miles and at most 6 miles on my daily commute to and from work. I'm also surprised how many steps I take in teaching a 50-minute class. I apparently pace all around the room rather than stayed chained to a lectern.

:D:D Oldie, but goodie!

Jack & Dave, whatever food I prepare (oatmeal, sandwich, etc.), I tend to include an entire food pyramid! ;) There are 3 slices of summer sausage in that sandwich, but 3 leaves of Romaine lettuce tends to hide most of the other ingredients.

Great photo, Dave! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

This type of thought usually goes through my mind when I'm doing comparative knife shopping! ;):thumbsup:

Taylor, you're not only a Guardian of the Lambsfoot now, you're also a Trailblazer!! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Great pic of your new lambsfoot! Nice grain! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Superb black/red combo, Jeff! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Thanks for the update, Greg! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Splendid knife, OG!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: Intriguing poster! Were you part of some of the circus acts, or a general roustabout, or what??

Fantastic foto, Dave, that really took me back!! I used to LOVE my Mom's home-canned peaches (on cereal or cottage cheese), but haven't had them for at least 30 years (probably a lot longer than that).

The second pic of your Unity lambsfoot in the copse of trees is so appealing to me, Jack! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

:D:D

Thanks for the bonus view of Blackadder! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Have you darkened the finish, Joshua? This and other recent pics of your lambsfoot seem to show darker handles than before (but maybe it's all a matter of lighting). :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Coincidence ..., or Grand Design??? :confused::eek::p

Congrats on the beautiful new lambsfoot, Icky Thump Icky Thump !! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: Handsome horn! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

A very cool pic, the knife shows character along with the shadowing :thumbsup::thumbsup:

My latest uke: I bought it because it was made in Chicago instead of China, and because it was for sale across the street from my late uncle's hardware shop/ apartment in Jordan NY. I made a bit of a mess of it fitting geared tuners.
And here is my first Wright, of which I made a bit of a mess getting rid of the pen blade because the accursed thing just wouldn't open.

Just the lighting, my friend. It was under the desk lamp in an otherwise dark room this morning. I wouldn't be surprised if it darkens up from use eventually, though. Here's hoping, because that would be pretty cool.

Thank you very much GT, it's always good to see Black Jack :) :thumbsup:

I apologize

Thank you for understanding :) I know it can be frustrating, but I don't want to risk having this thread locked. Even if there were a BF-contributing dealer, I'd rather keep commercial discussion out of this thread as much as possible, as per the sub-forum guidelines. Questions about dealers and buying can always be asked by PM :thumbsup:

You're a peripatetic!

That or he teaches a step-class! :D :thumbsup:

Fantastic Jer, that's a nice one :) I'll have to see if I can get you the George Formby song book :D :thumbsup:

My two-blade has been sitting on my desk for the past couple of months, and I was having a look at it just yesterday. The pull was extremely hefty when I got it, particularly on the pen blade. I softened the corners of the tang slightly, and it made a bit of difference. I've been meaning to do some more work on it, but noticed when I was examining it yesterday, that it's now much easier to open than it was, though still with a stiff pull. I'd probably spend a bit more time on it, but when I feel it's extra weight, I think I'd rather stick with a standard Lambsfoot, which is lighter, a lot more pocket-friendly, and does virtually everything the two-blade will do :thumbsup:

My new friend likes going to American Football practice!

Thanks, Dave. :) Until you mentioned "shadowing", I hadn't noticed the crosshatched shadow on the blade from sunshine coming through the screen on the kitchen window! :cool::thumbsup:o_O

Take it back!! :mad::mad::D

Thanks for the clarification, Joshua. :) Your knife DOES look very handsome with darker (looking) covers. :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Totin my Ironwood bigun today! Y’all have a great day! :thumbsup: :)

G' mornin' my friends.
Splendid knife and slip, FBC! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Here's Black Jack, my ebony Guardians lambsfoot, with Dylan's slip from last year:

Good afternoon, Guardians.

It has been a bit of a spell since I checked in here. Just been quite busy overall.

I noticed a couple of you fellas sporting my slips from last year and it appears that some of the stitching is fraying or coming loose? I don't anticipate failure, but it if becomes worse, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I will either repair it or send you a new one. The ones I made this year have been stitched differently and should not experience any issues whatsoever. One must strive to always get better in one's craft and I am no exception to that concept.

Well, today I had a hankering for a chip butty, especially since a shiny new bottle of Henderson's Relish arrived in the mail. I figured with the ingredients I had on hand, I could make a suitable butty and give Henderson's a try. While I was at it, I thought that documenting my time in the kitchen might make for a suitable post here.

I started with a couple of large(ish) red potatoes.

After I washed and trimmed the unpleasant bits from them, the '18 ebony Lambsfoot made short work of paring them into sections more conducive to a butty.

I then fired up the gas. (Apologies, I didn't realize my stove was so dirty)

Filled a pan with a generous amount of oil.

Fried the chips until they were a nice dark golden brown.

A couple of things that I did differently with this rendition of a chip butty is I toasted the bread, applied a nice slice of sharp cheddar, and added a couple of generous dashes of Henderson's.

It was quite tasty, especially washed down with a bit of Red Ale.
