Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Wow! Thanks for the incredible post Taylor :) So how are you finding the Lambsfoot, and what did your buddies think of it, looking pretty good with that patina my friend? It looks like you had a great weekend, how did it all get started?
My buddies liked it a lot. I have a friend who is a blacksmith and he was very interested in the knife.

The trip originally started as my friend's bachlor party and we just kept the trip going. This was the 6th year. There are a ton of saloons and a brewery in town. Not as old as the ones across the pond but still old in Western United States terms.
Here is the oldest of them (building in the middle). No longer making beer though...:thumbsdown:

And the Red Dog, a populated saloon and restaurant.

A lot of rock bands in the late 60's and 70's would headlined at this small venue.

Totaly cool Taylor brings back memories of my biking days in the 70's. Who knows the Grateful Dead might have played there.

The edge needed a touch up. Arkansas medium oil stone followed by the strop working from course compound to medium and that's all it takes to make this thing extremely sharp.

Here's a shot with the 2018 slip

And
You Can see my jeans are just starting to wear on the corner closest to the bolster. I keep it in my back pocket next to my bill fold.

The last time that we were there, my wife had to have her picture taken under the sign for the Bucket Of Blood saloon.

Annual "man trip," in the books. Me and my buddies go to Virginia City, Nevada. Every year same weekend in August. It's a great time. The town is a "living ghost town," at one point one of the richest cities in the world. . Here are some pictures of the trip. And of course the knife I carried. I'm just gonna venture out there and say this is the first real Lambsfoot to Grace the boardwalks!

Helped make some cocktails...

An amazing view. You can see old mine tailings from the Bonanza strike.

There a large population of wild horses that wander in and out of town. They are beautiful!

Last pic, after a weekend worth of lime cutting, this patina is strong!

What fantastic shots! Thanks for posting them; looks like a great place for a weekend away. When I think of America it's places like that I picture in my head  I can't think of many better ways to spend a weekend than sitting there drinking the local brews
Also, did anyone spy the fixed blade on the belt of the chap sitting down in the first picture. I can't imagine doing that outside a pub in the UK :(

I notice there's been some nostalgic mention of spam and corned beef recently. For me. there still viable lunchtime options :D:thumbsup:

Just finishing shaving when my back went! o_O Swallowed some painkillers and hoping it doesn't completely mess up my week :(

Great pic
I have my spam with mustard and pickled onions :D
Your back sounds painful  I'd try a less vigorous shaving regime :D No seriously, I had a bad back for years, a few hundred pound to an oesteopath was worth every penny

My mate has his with mustard too! :D Yeah, it'd help if the sink was a bit higher, I'm 6ft 3"! I have suffered with my back over 40 years, and can rarely predict what will cause me pain though, it once went into spasm when I was putting some bread in the toaster! It's been mostly OK for the past year, but I've been attending some physiotherapy sessions recently, and going to gym classes, and my back has been troubling me since I started. I've seen chiropractors and osteopaths in the past, and they did help. I think I need to invest in some more sessions. A female friend swears by Thai massage for her sciatica, but I've never been to a massage parlour, which as you know, often had a rather unsavoury reputation.
