Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks. It's a little short, but that makes it easier to walk with when you don't really need it, and when you do really need it you're crumpled shorter yourself.

The original ferule was missing. This copper reducer is a nice tight fit.

Yes, I know what you mean my friend, my first cane was a little short, so I made a long ferrule, and whittled a piece of wood to extend the length by a couple of inches, it made all the difference  I went with a nice heavy-duty model I picked up today, as I really needed to lean on it :(

Edit - Thought I'd add a pic ;)

This one is nice because it's a lot stouter than it looks.
When they come up with an anti-gravity harness like the villain's in the Dune movie, they're welcome to call me.
I suppose one could suspend oneself from a rack on wheels, in the meantime.

Yeah, it's handy having the silver assay marks to date stuff, otherwise I would have no idea! :D I think I paid about £10 for it :) Cool pic my friend  I met up with my mate and his kids yesterday, and his eldest boy, who I gave a Lambsfoot knife to, was telling me all about the walking stick he's been carving :)

That's great! the young fellow is starting out fine. Makes it worthwhile that you gave him his first real knife.
These cane/walking sticks are made by my Wifes uncle, I think the canes look silly, had to accept one, as I am part of the family by marriage.:p

Yeah, he's a really intelligent kid, and his dad tells me he's really taken to the Lambsfoot :) I got this stick a few years ago, an old guy was making them for a shop a few towns away. Again, I think it cost me £10. It has a few interesting features

:thumbsup: Jack, isn't there anything the medical caretakers can do for your back problems?

I don't understand why there isn't really Dave. My doctor is incredibly complacent, but I've had enough of it now. I'm going to demand he refers me to a specialist or submit a complaint. I have numerous back problems, including sciatica, a slipped disc, and spondylitis, and the last time I had any X-rays taken was 1977! It's over 20 years since I was last referred to a specialist, and that was by a different doctor. This guy just sits there shrugging his shoulders, and waiting for his retirement (next year)o_O The folks here on The Porch have been far more helpful in diagnosing my medical ills than he ever has been! I'm currently (finally) getting some specialist treatment for my arthritis, tennis elbow, multiple foot problems, and sleep apnea, but I got that IN SPITE of him, he actively tried to block me being referred to a rheumatolgist, for example, even though a consultant at the hospital had sent him a letter recommending I be referred to one. I've had a persistent cough for nearly a year, and have only just been referred to a chest specialist because I insisted on seeing a different doctor at my practice, and now the waiting list is 21 weeks! Such is the current state of the British Health Service I'm afraid :(
