Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Great to see one of the 27 ACs Dwights  You take a great pic my friend :)

Blimey, this year is moving FAST! Cool pic Jer :)

That's interesting Michael :col: I grew up in a house where most meals were meat and ONE veg! :D THere are a lot of options out there, and I think I could live without the fake meat. We didn't get always get meat when I lived in the Middle East, but when we had any, the food was good :) I'll definitely be making another visit to the Tunisian stall in the market :)

Yeah, in my 30's there mate :) What on earth happened to me?! 🤣

It's great to see you here pal, how are things going with rebuilding there, are folks managing to get back on their feet? That's bad news about your phone camera :( And your Lambsfoot! Hope it's OK my friend :)

I like middle eastern food (and most for that matter). I agree with cudgee cudgee though in that I'll just skip the meat instead of adding in some crazy fake lab-grown monstrosity. o_O There are other ways to get protein and to be honest the western diet is not protein-deficient anyway. Your mileage may vary, of course lol! That said have lived vicariously reading of your Lenten adventure!

👍

Thanks Michael. It is an East India Company coin. Here's the flip side of it and the knife.View attachment 2131204

Thanks Steve.

Thank you my friend.

Ha ha! Now I must go back and look again. @Campbellclanman - Good eye mate! Sorry about your camera.
EDIT - I went back and looked! Jack you were a handsome devil!:D😁

Thanks for the flip side, Fodderwing Fodderwing ! Cool stuff and the lamb just puts it way over the top.

For a start it is a complete misnomer that they can call something that comes off a production line out of a factory " Meat ". And when you read some of the ingredients in this stuff, not for me i'm afraid. I may have told you about my friend who is a Strength and Conditioning Trainer but where she excels from the rest is her knowledge of nutrition and diet, she's the best i have been told by people that would know and one of her saying is " If It Doesn't Grow Or Make Love - Don't Eat It ". I have cleaned that up for a family friendly forum. 🥰 🥰 🥰 ;). Have a good week.
Completely agree! But I am still known to eat things I shouldn't...

It's fantastic isn't it? And great value I think. I'd purchase a 3rd edition in a heartbeat
I'd buy a 3rd edition also!

On a side note. If you ever write a survival book Jack. You'll need to add a chapter for Tool Man on long term survival using spam as a base food. 🤣

I came across this box of Lambsfoot knives at the Badger knife show this weekend and asked Barrett, Todd, and Paul if they were interested in one.
At $10.00 a piece or all five for $40.00 I thought that was a pretty good deal. They all passed, so I bought the lot. :)

I don’t know what I was thinking!! 😵‍💫🤣

Despite my vegetarian Lent, I'm still very wary about fake meat products, the burgers I had were impressive, along with the pies, but I've steered clear of some of the other things I've seen on sale. However, this fake chicken was on offer, and I thought I'd give it a try. More expensive than chicken ounce for ounce I reckon!

The strangest thing about this stuff is that, when you open the pack, it does smell a bit like raw chicken! But that's not a smell I enjoy! The colour of the product also matches that of chicken, but I don't think you'd actually confuse it with chicken. I seasoned it with black pepper, and Ghost Grill Seasoning, and fried it in a little toasted sesame oil. It browned like I would expect chicken to do, but didn't really give off much of a smell.

The texture, when cooked, is vaguely like chicken, as is the flavour, but not good chicken. It doesn't flake or crumble like chicken, and the flavour is more like the sort of processed, reconstituted chicken you might find in a MacDonald's or something. It worked very well as an addition to a Vegetable Dhansak (with spicy rice), but I think I would have enjoyed the curry just as much without it. It was OK, but not something I really enjoyed.

Secret ingredients gifted to me by @Reaper AL and btb01 btb01 :)

“Vaguely like chicken.” They should put you to work in the marketing department, Jack! 🤣🤣 I hope that seasoning and the chili crunch helped make it a bit more edible.

I have been real slack at taking photo's lately - my I phone has a brilliant Camera on it- but I dropped it and broke the lenses out of the Camera!

It still take "ok" photo's - but have been wanting to catch up with my carrying of my grand Lambsfoot as its done a couple of months of hard work - what's really disappointing is I was oiling the joints the other night and the very tip- the smallest tiniest tip seems to be just a peek bent- you can just feel it with your finger - I will sharpen that up in a few days time!!

Sorry to hear about your phone, Duncan, and your Lambsfoot tip.

LOL! :D The ingredients didn't seem too nasty, but I agree Leon, it was a mistake buying it
You good looking Devil you, Jack you must have been ( and probably still are I would say ) extremely fit my friend - not worried about the Camera - the Lambsfoot will be fine- I just don't want to introduce any unnecessary scratches by eliminating the tip burr.
I will try to catch it in a photo.....
Thanks pal, I was fit then, I'm fit to drop now! 🤣 I remember being bothered with a similar-looking burr Duncan, but it just came right off on the stones. I have also found knives on market stalls with bent tips, and was able to straighten them by putting a coin on either side of the tip, and clamping in a vice
Here is my neat Lambsfoot, I absolutely love the Grain of this Wood- just gorgeous- and it pops in the bright natural Sunlight! ...

Here is the tip - it wont take much but this Knife is such a Razor- A real pleasure to carry and I will touch up the edge as I am going to have a EDC rotation so I am sure my Hartshead will be coming out for some action!

You can see why I am not taking many photos these days with my bung Camera!
It's great to see your '19 again buddy, and thanks for taking a photo of the tip burr. I'm looking forward to seeing your Hartshead Barlow :)

It has been interesting Michael, and I have learned a few things, but I think I would have found giving up a lot of other things harder, and probably benefitted more health-wise from doing so! :D I could certainly have put in a lot more effort in terms of the meals I've cooked
I'd buy a 3rd edition also!
A few years back, before the pandemic, Geoff was actively working on a 3rd edition, but has now come to the conclusion that setting everything up for another print-on-demand edition isn't worth it. As you can imagine, he makes absolutely no money on it, and it's a real niche publication - even here on BF, barely anyone has a copy. He had hoped to put all the information online, so it could be accessed for free, and updated easily, and rather than setting up a dedicated website, has now decided to just make his research available to the Hawley Collection. Personally, I'd much rather see a print edition, and hope it happens one day

LOL! :D I could be the new Don Draper Barrett! 🤣 I just stirred some chilli crunch into the cooked rice, worked really well :)

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone had a great weekend, and that you're in good shape for the week ahead. I still have a bit of clock-lag after the move to British Summer Time o_O I have a package being delivered this morning, some crossbow stuff from Europe, but now we are out of the EU, there's a £50 tax fee to pay, which is a third of what the items cost 🤨 I'm finding it hard to kick my Hartshead Barlow out of my pocket! Why struggle?! 😉 Have a good week Guardians

Crossbow stuff!!! Sounds like fun. That is a hefty fee my friend and feel bad that folks are having to fork over that kind of cash to receive stuff they have already purchased. I can completely understand not kicking the HHB out of the pocket. I had the pleasure of handling one over the weekend and it was so nice. Have a great day today, Jack.
Called in Charlie's on my way to town to pay some bills 👍
Those croissants just look ridiculously delicious Jack. I am sure it was scrumptious.
You know, I'm not sure, but think I ordered some Cadbury Creme eggs. I'll need a bigger Easter dish.
Overindulged on Cadbury eggs when I was a kid and get queasy every time I think about them. Lamb is looking sweet Jer.

Back to life today with work and the normal routine but that is good. Left the burrito at the store and just grabbed a banana. Feeling hungry now😂😂 Leaving that delicious burrito on the hot plate at the Kwik Trip was a mistake:). Got the ebony lamb in the pocket today. Have a great day everyone.

The patina is a fine addition to your ebony Paul.
Perhaps you did yourself favor this morning? 😁

The prices aren't fun Paul, more expensive than firearms! I got 10 of these new bolts, 10 less expensive bodkin bolts, 2 of their plastic 'speed-loaders', one of which arrived broken, and a new 90lb prod, and it came to £200! So far I think I've spent about £2,500 on it! 🤯 I could be festooned with Glocks for half of that! I'm glad that you were able to handle a Hartshead Barlow :) Thanks buddy, you too

It definitely hit the spot Paul, as did the coffee I was sorely in need of :)

LOL! :D At least you had good intentions :D Great pic of your Ebony Lamb :)

After leaving Charlie's I headed into town, and went to the bank and the post office. I picked up some bread, and a couple of other things, and had a chat with a couple of stall-holders I know. Then I crossed to the other side of the city centre, called in a cafe for another coffee, bought a few second-hand DVDs, and a few things from the Chilli Shop (got some chilli crunch on order) ;)
