Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Beer 3! A new one to try out. Pretty good. I’d rank this as a good summer/spring beer!

This week flew by. Happy Easter to all. Hope you have a great weekend.

It’s been a while since I posted a lamb on a mag shot. This one is a well worn Yugoslav mag. Has a few dings in it.

Hope you're having a great weekend Pete, that old mag has some character, and your Blood Lamb looks as good as ever :)
Can you imagine a penny a beer??? :oops:o_O:eek:
From what I understand, beer was regarded as a food item, an essential of life, and a working man's right, and wasn't taxed for centuries. The Sheffield cutlers loved their ale, and would sit with a jug beside their grindstone. It was often said that Sheffield had more pubs per person than any other town in the Kingdom! :D

Apparently it’s national beer day 🤷🏻‍♂️

Here’s number 2. Not the haziest of hazy beers. Buts it’s super fruity, tropical bomb. I have one more beer to try out.

Hope you are having a good hike !

Good morning Guardians. Rainy weekend here in NC and it cooled off to the low 50's Deg F. Looks to be an indoors type of day so I think I'll get some paperwork done and also prep for Easter. My HHB at the ready for water comes my way.

Sounds like a fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Hope you have a great time, Jack.

Thanks Jack. The graphic on beer spending is very interesting and looks like I'm right in line. 😁

Thank you Jack, it’s gear review weekend here. Still need to open some boxes and take stock after the move last fall.

Sounds like a good plan. It’s cloudy and wet here today so inside activities seem to be on board. Enjoy the fresh air!

Which, of course, it is. 😉🍺

Interesting infographic, Jack. I’d be curious how different cities/areas within some of those countries would compare to each other. I’d imagine $1,457 (or it’s equivalent in £) would go a bit further outside of London.

I love that picture, Jack!:thumbsup:

I just tried to find an image Barrett, but it was so out of date that a pint in London was less than £5, about half of what it is now I think! o_O:rolleyes:

Thank you Jack...glad the weather cooperated with you for your trek.
Funny, I am actually the second owner. It was a county work truck in New Mexico in the 1950's. Then out of a junk yard to restoration.

I realised that I'd overbought on onions, (and a lot of other things), so thought I'd drop some round at my neighbour's on my way down the street. I bumped into Mrs Singh's son Minda, and by a happy coincidence she had asked him to fetch her some, so that solved that :D We chatted for a while, and then I walked down the street, and down to Charlie's for a coffee, before catching a bus to Roundhay Park, a few miles away.

I usually have coffee at the cafe near the entrance, but since Charlie had already charged my caffeine levels, I walked straight into the park, past the old bandstand, and down to the smaller of the park's two lakes.

It really doesn't seem like a year since the swans were building their nest last year. A shame so much of it is wind-blown plastic, and other rubbish :(

I regretted not bringing a longer lens for my camera, and had to resort to the zoom on my small compact when I spotted Papa Swan cruising around further across the lake, and close to a small Moor Hen's nest.

I walked into the woods, heading for a quiet area where I could do some slingshot plinking.

About 5 years ago, one of the many huge trees came crashing down in a storm, and I have been using it as a back-stop since then. The park rangers have been clearing up the area though, so I might have to find another spot. After half an hour's plinking, I decided to stop for a snack, and ate a couple of bananas I had brought with me, along with an eccles cake. I walked on into the woods, following a good path.

One for our golfers! ;)

Skirting the edge of the golf course, I dropped down to the stream, crossing on the old stone bridge.

Leaving the woods, I had to cross Leeds outer ring-road. At this point, it's only 2 lanes wide, but it was really busy, and the traffic comes round the bend at 70 mph, in both directions. There used to be a crossing here once, but that's long gone, and it's the only place to cross. I had to wait 5-10 minutes before I was able to bolt across.

Once across, I continued on the footpath, with woodland opening up into fields. I bumped into a young woman walking her dog, and warned her the road was busy. I saw her later, and she'd decided not to risk it.

I was hoping to get a few pics of new-born lambs, but while I could hear them bleating, I could barely see them 3 fields away, and had to resort to my compact zoom again, (and heavy cropping).

Eventually, I was at the village of Shadwell, and the Red Lion pub, where a feast of beer, and some of the finest chips imaginable awaited me ;) Hope everyone else is having a good day :)
