Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

🌧️ Well play has been suspended for the day, but that doesn’t mean you guys have to stop eating and drinking! 🤣

Here’s a few pictures from our visit to the Heaven Hill distillery yesterday. View attachment 2145983
Nothing like a bourbon tasting at 10:00 am. 👍

That had to be a fun experience Todd and a nice lamb to carry there.👍
As they say, it was 5 o'clock somewhere.

LOL! :D Wow, those are great photos Todd  I hope you had fun, despite the early start :)
Thanks Jack. It was a trip long over due, and one we won’t wait so long to do again. Hope you have a great time on your trip. 😎👍

Thanks Bob, in bourbon county it’s always 5:00! 🤣

It's a bit of a shambles actually Pete! :D I received an email, about a month ago, from one of our tour operators/airlines, advertising 'Cheap Spring Breaks in Turkey'. So I have a quick look on my phone, and see a hotel, which looks OK, fantastic reviews, and a reasonable price. I book it, 7 days, all inclusive, shell out for a room upgrade, sea view, etc, and then a bunch of extras on the flight, and insurance. When I get the info from them, the hotel is in Bulgaria, very close to Turkey, on the Black Sea, but NOT in Turkey. I tried cancelling, but it looked like I'd lose a third of my money. It's in a resort called Sunny Beach. I'm not someone who likes lying on a beach, in fact I hate it, and I don't like tourist resorts, but hopefully, it'll be relatively quiet at the beginning of May, and there's an ancient town called Nessebar not too far away, which sounds interesting. But, if I knew I was going to Bulgaria, I'd prefer to see Bulgaria, not a beach resort! Odessa isn't that far away of course!
😆 Dang Jack! I hope you find that the reviews are more indicative of the location/accommodations than the resort name!

Took a quick look at Nessebar. That looks very interesting. The church of St. Sofia especially.

I will be interested in your experiences.

Here is a couple pictures we took at Lamanai, Belize we in 2018. Wife and I always seek the history on our trips. That was our last trip out of the US we are due for an adventure soon

I realised that I'd overbought on onions, (and a lot of other things), so thought I'd drop some round at my neighbour's on my way down the street. I bumped into Mrs Singh's son Minda, and by a happy coincidence she had asked him to fetch her some, so that solved that :D We chatted for a while, and then I walked down the street, and down to Charlie's for a coffee, before catching a bus to Roundhay Park, a few miles away.

Great photos, Jack! Thanks for the tour.

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday. It will be the Masters and stuffing my face with whatever food is within arms reach today 🤣. I do need to stock up on a few essentials that include IPA, brown ale, and maybe a porter ale or two for the weekend. I always look forward to this week. I have this nice little rodgers shadow pattern lamb in the pocket today. Have a great day everyone and enjoy your Easter weekend.

What kind of dark magic is holding that thing together?! 😧😉 Hope you have a nice relaxing day, Paul.

You're living the life, Todd! 🙂

Special thank you to Jack Black Jack Black Came home today to a package from Jack. Inside was a little tin with a beautiful '19 lambsfoot and an awesome pin. Also included was a wonderful Yorkshire keychain and a Richards pipe tool. What a thoughtful and generous gift my friend. I don't really know what I did to deserve such an amazing gift but promise you that I will cherish this for years and years and years. Thank you, Jack. The knife is great but the friendship is what truly matters.

The people in this thread are amazing. I have had a string of wonderful things happen to me lately. I promise to pay it forward.

Congrats! That one has some fine character. And as others have already said, "well done" once again Jack Black Jack Black .

What a sweet ride (and knives)! This reminded me of my dad restoring a '40-something Ford. Have no idea where it went?!

Leaving the woods, I had to cross Leeds outer ring-road. At this point, it's only 2 lanes wide, but it was really busy, and the traffic comes round the bend at 70 mph, in both directions. There used to be a crossing here once, but that's long gone, and it's the only place to cross. I had to wait 5-10 minutes before I was able to bolt across.

Eventually, I was at the village of Shadwell, and the Red Lion pub, where a feast of beer, and some of the finest chips imaginable awaited me ;) Hope everyone else is having a good day :)

Hope that you Guardians are enjoying a very pleasant weekend and Easter. We've been quite wet here this week but the sun has broken through this afternoon. The dogs (and I) enjoy the cooler weather anyway -- doesn't take long to get into the dog days of summer in southeast Texas...

Beer 3! A new one to try out. Pretty good. I’d rank this as a good summer/spring beer!

As Jack said those definitely look like "Taylor beers"! I prefer IPA's but of the "standard" variety (guess I have no sense of adventure). Thanks for the tasting, and always fun to see your patina'd HHB.

Thank you Pete.

Gracias amigo.

Thanks Jack. The graphic on beer spending is very interesting and looks like I'm right in line. 😁

Have a great weekend y'all.View attachment 2145443

Always a delight to see this lamb!

That's a very interesting one, and one I've never seen (which admittedly isn't saying much).

Love bourbon myself -- trust that you had a great time even if not on the links! HHB looking stellar as per usual.

Congrats! That one has some fine character. And as others have already said, "well done" once again Jack Black Jack Black .
Thank you Michael. It is a special knife from a get guy. Doesn't get better than that in my book.

Jack had mentioned to me that they don't come up too much. Kinda just got lucky on that site. Thanks buddy.

Thank you kindly.

Im guessing glue. Lol. If I had to guess, liners are pinned and this slab of 🪵 is glued or fixed on with something similar. Build quality is overall nice.

I’d imagine so, glue or epoxy of some sort. Definitely an interesting construction.

🤣🤣

And that made me think of this:

Tonight we tried a new Mexican restaurant that opened near us a couple months ago. Seemed like a nice place, and it’s less than 5 minutes from our house, but the food was surprisingly bland. 🫤

But how are the Ritas??

We have a spot down the street that is a 5/10 but the drinks make it “palatable “

👍😃

Evening Guardians. Jack sure did like the pics of your hike! 🤠 Pathfinder Ethan is on the trail today.View attachment 2146236

LOL Seinfeld was one of the greatest shows of all time (imo)! Sorry to hear about the dinner -- Mexican is my #1 and would have no trouble having it seven days a week and twice on Sundays lol.
