Great tour of a beautiful park Jack. Nice pictures of your lambs.I realised that I'd overbought on onions, (and a lot of other things), so thought I'd drop some round at my neighbour's on my way down the street. I bumped into Mrs Singh's son Minda, and by a happy coincidence she had asked him to fetch her some, so that solved thatWe chatted for a while, and then I walked down the street, and down to Charlie's for a coffee, before catching a bus to Roundhay Park, a few miles away.

I usually have coffee at the cafe near the entrance, but since Charlie had already charged my caffeine levels, I walked straight into the park, past the old bandstand, and down to the smaller of the park's two lakes.

It really doesn't seem like a year since the swans were building their nest last year. A shame so much of it is wind-blown plastic, and other rubbish

I regretted not bringing a longer lens for my camera, and had to resort to the zoom on my small compact when I spotted Papa Swan cruising around further across the lake, and close to a small Moor Hen's nest.

I walked into the woods, heading for a quiet area I could do some slingshot plinking with.

About 5 years ago, one of the many huge trees came crashing down in a storm, and I had been using it as a back-stop since then. The park rangers have been clearing up the area though, so I might have to find another spot. After half an hour's plinking, I decided to stop for a snack, and ate a couple of bananas I had brought with me, along with an eccles cake. I walked onto the woods, following a good path.
