The Mrs wanted to take a day or two trip to New York city because apparently I just have to see it. Personally, there is no desire to go there but sometimes it's easier to just say "ok dear, I'll look into it"The cost of train travel is just unbelievable now mate, it's cheaper to fly!
Glad you are having some decent weather on the shore. I know it's been nice on the joyzee shore. Loved to see the wild horses down there when I would go.We have never been on a train. It's always neat to see how people use them in other parts of the country/world. There is a large train station downtown but it's just not economical to use it. More of a novelty in my opinion. Honestly, I can't think of anyone around home that has used it.

After figuring out the mileage and fuel for the car, train fare, bus fare and air fare it was actually cheapest to fly. We haven't gone yet, maybe someday..
Speaking of tourist destinations, here is a silhouette kinda photo of the lamb by the beach.

We found some phenomenal oranges but the pears (grocery store stuff) have been average at best. There's a produce stand on the way to Assateague national park, might stop there later and see if anything looks good. There's probably nothing there grown locally, haha. Possible tourist trap.
Have a good one, everyone!
Gorgeous Bob!Hope everyone has a good day.View attachment 2273793

Already August 3rd? July felt very long, but this month already feels like it is slipping away too fast.
I have been all over Europe on trains, including some incredibly beautiful journeys. It can be a nice way to travel, but this country has the worst rail transport in Europe, and it is many times more expensiveWe have never been on a train. "Hey, no need to hire a professional for our ad campaign, my mate Terry says he can do it for a grand!"
They ought to make posters for the seagulls, it's them that's in the wrong here!
Just having a pint

Enjoy your trip! Have one for me!Just having a pint
Great jigging and another lamb saved!
Very cool!Thanks!
It's been a little cooler and seemingly less humid than the past few weeks in the burg. Can't ask for a better week weather wise. Always worried it will storm.
Assateague is really neat. Very nice beaches and lots of wildlife viewing. The horses are always cool to see.
This big fella walked into the road and stopped the car, then walked past giving us the eyeball.

"'He never had a chance!'That's the scene just before Paul Newman (Judge Roy Bean) blows a hole in his chest.
That is one hypnotic lamb Jer."'He never had a chance!'
'Nope.'"
Or words to that effect.
Featuring Jacqueline Bisset, with a cameo by Anne Bancroft as Jenny Lind.
Roddy McDowell as the oily villain.
I don't think I've posted a pic today.

Don't remember Anne Bancroft. Bissett had a bit part at the end as Bean's daughter. Victoria Principal was the female lead. Cameo by Ava Gardner as Lilly Langtry. "For Texas and Miss Lilly!" Newman had some great closing scenes: Bean, Cool Hand Luke, and especially Butch Cassidy."'He never had a chance!'
'Nope.'"
Or words to that effect.

Stacy Keach as Bad Bob! I had to look it up.
The background's a bit much. It reminds of The Outer Limits. That is one hypnotic lamb Jer.
At least I have a movie to watch tonite.
