Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning Guardians. Rain all day today:(. Was hoping to get the lawn mowed but it's not going to happen. Hope everyone has a good day today and a good weekend.

Love that pic Bill! 😁 Sorry to hear the rain has affected your plans, I hope it clears up for the weekend 🙂 With all the rain we've had here, I'm not sure my blackberries are going to be worth picking this year ☹️👍

Hmmm...supposed to be a fine day here. Opened the curtains to find more rain! So I'm going to have another cup of tea, read my book for a while, and then set off in search of coffee and breakfast 🙄

Tea AND coffee? 😲
Unbelievable isn't it Jer? You'd think if you're a Dracula fan, you might read the book at some point!
I love the original Bela Lugosi film, and when I was a child I fancied the Christopher Lee versions too. Lugosi has aged better, I think. But I just couldn't get very far into the book. Tried a couple of times.

Looks like you're having a good time, despite the weather, Jack. Wish I could be there!

A classic, obviously Vince 😎 I like the Christopher Lee/Peter Cushing versions, but you are right :) I remember reading the book when I was 11, but it's not very fast-paced, all that correspondence, very much in the style of the time. I doubt you'd get a book written in that way published today. I remember starting Frankenstein not long after, but I don't think I made it past the turgid introduction, which I'd probably have been better off skipping 🙄😁👍

I wish so too Vince, we'd have a great old time 🙂

I sure have done a lot of walking today! I seem to have been at it all day! I had a Cornish pastie, while walking on the front earlier. I was hoping to get a cup of tea and a piece of cake at the place I had my breakfast pancakes, but they close early, for some reason. Last night, I saw a homeless guy sleeping rough, on the steps of what I thought was a shop, but which it turns out is actually an old Methodist church. I spoke to him, and gave him a couple of quid. This morning, I thought I'd make him a couple of sandwiches, and after finishing my pancakes, I asked if they knew which doorway he was lodging in. They gave me a cup of tea for him, so this afternoon, when I was going there again, I asked if he needed anything, and if he wanted another cuppa. Unfortunately as the cafe was closed, neither of us got one, but I'll pass by again later.

I had an interesting conversation with a couple of young guys who are selling contemporary Sheffield pocket knives, mainly from TEW. One of them had visited their new place recently, which was, and possibly still is, just a warehouse. He said that they had some machinery set up, but told him all the cutlers had been given the day off 'because it was nice weather'! 😁

They had also had dealings with another Sheffield cutler, an individual who has been mentioned here before, who told them some fanciful tales, and who proved very unreliable. I know that doesn't narrow it down much, when it comes to Sheffield cutlers! 😱

I got talking to another guy, who runs a small antique shop, who used to read my knife articles 30 years ago 😁

I'm going to rest up for a bit, then I'm going to go out for a bite to eat, and another couple of pints 😉 I hope everyone is having a good day 👍

I'm glad you were able to make the sacrifice and have a pint.😁
Thanks mate! 😁 I went on to another pub, but it was closed for some reason, a bit weird bearing in mind it's Friday night 🙄 I thought I'd head back to my room, and have a cup of tea and a few Hobnob biscuits instead 😁 Still got half a flask of whiskey ;) 😁👍
Such a cool Lamb! 😎 Fantastic pic Dwight 😊👍
