Jack sorry some parts of your trip didn't turn out as planned. Got an idea Tool Man will be spinning yarns for a while.Bid you fair winds and following seas on your trip home. Very interesting Leon, thanksI don't, there are lots of theories, but most are Urban Myths proclaiming to be fact in my opinion. But it would have some sort of British/Celtic origin. Like the Pastie, we did not invent them, just borrowed the idea.
It's as close as I'll ever get to owning a Unimog.![]()

Good morning Guardians, I'm just having a cup of tea and a piece of some 'Merlot-drenched fruitcake' I bought in the small Saturday market here. There were only a handful of stalls, but I met the Whitby Tool Man!He was nothing like the Leeds version, being a younger feller, selling to a different market. Going to be a long day I reckon, but at least it isn't raining
I hope your week gets off to a good start Guardians

Thank you SteveSafe travels home Jack !
Jack, you do like adventure in your travels. Hope your ride home is uneventful.Thank you Steve![]()
I arrived in Scarborough at 11.30am, and since my train to Leeds isn't until after 2.30pm, I was hoping to upgrade it. Unfortunately, there are a large number of cancelled trains today, and because of that, it wasn't possible for me to change to an earlier train. I asked if the pub across the road took in luggage, but was told nobody did that anymore. I checked with Google, which gave several facilities, which turned out to be bogus, but a lady in the post office told that a small hotel in the square opposite the station would accept left luggage. I walked there, but the door-bell went unanswered. I walked on to the pub, but it was closed. I decided to walk back round the hoel-studded square, and found a place that advertised the facility. A lady came, and charged me £10 for 2 hour's storage - no wonder she owns most of the hotels in the square, as she told me!I walked to a cafe, which was newly-opened, the last time I was here, where I know the coffee is good. Just finishing lunch with a slice of carrot cake (not sure what happened to my first photo of the cake)

Good brand of coffee in my experience. Glad you enjoyed it!Recently, I stopped in a random gas station in Harriman, Tennessee to use the restroom and get a cup of coffee. The sign on the door advertised "Green Mountain Coffee". Never heard of it. Figured it was the house brand. It was noon and there was one cup in the bottom of the pot sitting on the burner. I figured it was past its "sell by". As I was pouring, the woman called out and asked if there was enough coffee. I said I was taking the last cup. She came over and started making a new pot and told me to take the cup and have a nice day
It turned out to be an excellent cup of coffee. Not burned, not bitter, very nice flavor![]()
Thank youGreat pictures !
Cool pic Dwight !
