Sounds like your weekend was basically an expensive bust. Post-COVID, it seems standards have dropped a lot pretty much everywhere. I'm getting ready to take a trip but, I am in charge of most of my journey; traveling by car and camping mostly, so if the meals are bland, the coffee and tea are weak or burned, or worse, I won't have anyone to blame but myself!
While not a fan of the coffee chain places (not just Starbucks) generally, they do provide a consistently good cup of coffee except in very rare cases.

Recently, I stopped in a random gas station in Harriman, Tennessee to use the restroom and get a cup of coffee. The sign on the door advertised "Green Mountain Coffee". Never heard of it. Figured it was the house brand. It was noon and there was one cup in the bottom of the pot sitting on the burner. I figured it was past its "sell by". As I was pouring, the woman called out and asked if there was enough coffee. I said I was taking the last cup. She came over and started making a new pot and told me to take the cup and have a nice day
It turned out to be an excellent cup of coffee. Not burned, not bitter, very nice flavor

He is doing well Ed. He has taken on alot of overtime to help his in laws. He told me he wished the day had more than 24 hrs.Any word from/about Paul

Was at the market on Friday morning and one of the butchers there was hanging these just made snags up, on enquiring found out they were fennel and pork. Decided to give them a try, will be purchasing again, very tasty. With a Walnut lamb to add some more flavour.

But I never had walnut flavored lamb.

I don't, there are lots of theories, but most are Urban Myths proclaiming to be fact in my opinion. But it would have some sort of British/Celtic origin. Like the Pastie, we did not invent them, just borrowed the idea.
