Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I've never heard of whataburger. Must not be a thing 'round these parts...

Mac D's is ok on occasion. I am a huge fan of the fillet o fish sandwich. It's not fish... I don't know what it is... But man it's good.

These fast food restaurants used to be good for a quick, cheap meal, but anymore there's nothing cheap about it.

Is that knife growing?!?

Only two things I hate: The Way Things Are, and Change.

Here's a little history of NYC's Essex Street Market. You can see how every bit of character has been systematically scrubbed away. The last time I saw it was a few years ago and it was hardly as vibrant as the website makes it look.

LOL! :D Thanks for that fascinating link Rachel  I'm sure that Leeds Market is down to a dozen stalls, selling 'street art', vegan candles, tourist tat, organic fruit and veg, artisan cosmetics, and with a fake Marks & Spencer's, the developers will be saying they saved it from closure
Lambzilla! 😁
🤣 🤣
If America never contributes anything else to world culture, there'll always be McDonald's View attachment 2290036
I'm holding out for Whataburger! :D

I think the Bialystok McD's was not the average burger joint, my mate told me nobody could afford to eat there, and Bialystok is a town with only one hotel, and no tourism.
The Crossville, Tennessee flea market is still fun, although its not as big as it once was. The last time I was in Tennessee, I bought a set of sheets and some socks there. Flowers for gravesites the time before. In my mind, its the American version of the Leeds Market :)

Sounds cool Mike
You mean Whataburger!
🤣:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I hear they're good (the closest one is approx 130 miles away. I had to look it up), but they don't have the reach of McDonald's. Mac's are everywhere 🌎
I'd drive 130 miles to try Whataburger! :D Not sure about 5,000 miles! :D

You've not spent enough time here Rick! 🤣 🤣 ;)

When I was a kid, the main burger outlet was 'Wimpy Bars, with waitress service, cutlery, and linen tablecloths :) I think Mac D's must be quite different here, I wouldn't eat there 🤮
Great pic Mike :)

Tool Man had a pretty good range on his stall today, including a lot of MOD (Ministry of Defence) tools he had got from doing a TA (Territorial Army) barracks clearance - look at the size of that screwdriver! :D A collector told us he had 18" longer! o_O

He had sets of new British-made Whitworth spanners at £10, and even some Knipex wire-cutters at £8! Still, he wasn't taking much money. I did remind him that the first 2 weeks of August are always dead, because the kids are off school, and it's a traditional time for holidays, something any of the traders could have told him, but he seemed to think I was speaking witchcraft or something  :D We had some nice cake, and chips and gravy for lunch, and various visitors - Slimline Scott, Golden Gordon, Harry Hot-Balls, Barry The Ted, Captain Birdseye, Hell On Wheels, Wolfie, and Nobber Al, and this character, The Rochdale Cowboy! :D

I'd been up since 4.30am, so when Tool Man went to see Barber Brian about 2pm, I headed home for a nap ;) Hope everyone else is having a good day

I have to stay away from old tools, or I walk away with an empty wallet, and pockets bulging!!

Nice Rover!!!
It's dangerous Charlie, I could probably get by with a few tools in a kitchen drawer, rather than half a dozen overflowing tool-boxes! Hard to resist nice old tools, particularly when they're well-priced. I have managed to restrain myself from buying anymore axes and hammers, for now at least :D

Such self-control!! I am envious!!! 🤣 Hammer box 1.jpg

I dare say, I'll fall off the waggon again when the 'right axe or hammer comes along! 🤣 Very nice Charlie :) I still bought 2 small Simonds files today :D
Never pass up a good file, Jack!!
(That's about 20% of my hammers!!)
Being an old sandal maker, silversmith, and experienced carpenter, the right hammer is a wonderful thing to me!!!

Definitely not Charlie! :D Stan Shaw once told me a story about his mentor Ted Osborne. When Ted was young, he was dirt poor, and one morning, he was trudging to work at Ibberson's, from where he lived in the inner city Broomhall district, (where my grandparents lived, my mother grew up, and where I live myself many years). Looking down at the ground, he saw a shiny new Shilling, enough to buy several lavish breakfasts, or a lot of groceries. However, Ted bought himself a new file, to help him make more knives

It's funny Charlie, my first tools as a young worker, were mechanics tools, and my tool-box was full of them at the time. But those sort of tools don't have much appeal for me these days, and I have very few of them

I was a mechanic in the USA, and when I immigrated to Canada, I brought my tools, but wrenches don't have the appeal of hammers, which can retain hand wear and warmth in the wood!!!
